Nottoold Posted April 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2015 This may be a silly question, but I've seen comments as to how bad the beds are. Is this true? I have a bad back and need a comfortable bed. Was on the Jewel a month ago and the beds were great!! Can't understand why the beds on Vision would be different. I won't cancel my cruise, (that's not going to happen) but was just curious about the comments.
Justmekaren918 Posted April 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2015 It wasn't the best on Visionn but I was okay! I might suggest to email special needs special_needs@rccl.com with the knowledge that you need a good bed for your back! See what that gets you! I would head to the room and see if egg crate is there or ask for one! I had one on my Liberty sailing last week! Happy cruising!
Fenwick Posted April 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2015 Beds were terrible when we sailed on Vision two years ago. I hope they have been replaced with better beds.:)
sg1phileshipper Posted April 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2015 Sailed on the Vision in September 2012 and the beds weren't worse than on the other ships I have been on. I have back problems too and I didn't hurt more than usual after having slept 12 nights on them Cindy
berry15 Posted April 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2015 We sailed on a 9 night cruise on the Vision this past November. The beds were no different than on any other ship. I found them comfortable. My husband has a bad back and had no complaints.
spookwife Posted April 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2015 define 'good' they are no better or worse than your typical hotel bed. and it will depend on the cabin. some have older squishy mattresses, some have mattresses so firm there is no give at all. Mr Spook likes his mattresses basically rock hard so many nights he ends up sleeping on the couch. he also thinks pillows are just waiting to smother you on your sleep so at best he grabs the spare blanket from where ever it is stashed and uses that. sjb317 Posted April 9, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2015 I think mattresses are almost as subjective as food, everyone has their own opinion.:D We were on Vision in February and thought our mattress was very comfortable, but, to be honest, I can't think of any cruise where we've had a bad mattress. Sherri:) I totally agree. We were on Vision in February and I was quite comfortable. My DW on the other hand was not as she too has a bad back. Our stateroom attendant put a couple of mattress pad on and that helped.
impatientlywaiting Posted April 9, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 9, 2015 We were on Vision March 14-21 and since we slept up to 10 hours most nights, the beds must have been okay. We sleep on Sleep Number bed at home so are very picky about our mattress. :)
Nottoold Posted April 13, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted April 13, 2015 Thanks everyone for your comments. I'll just stop worrying about it and tackle the bed problem (if there is one) when we get there.
