Just off Navigator on April 26th

Recommended Posts

Chimay is one of my favorite beers. I know some ships carry La Fin du Monde which is my absolute favorite beer. If you like Chimay, the La Fin du Monde will blow you away. I really hope there's some on our sailing May 10th. You only need 1 or 2 to feel pretty good!

I will have to give that one a try as well.

The person leading the beer tasting told us a story about someone who liked the Chimay so much that he decided to drink four that evening. Needless to say, he needed help getting to his cabin that night.

I did check with my bride about the hair dryers onboard. She advises that "yes" you must hold down the button to operate the hair dryers.

I was afraid you would say that....lol. Thanks for your answer! I'm glad you had a good time and the crew was good.

  • 2 weeks later...

For those reading this thread because they are going on Navigator in the future -- don't forget to sign up for the Roll Call for your cruise. We are cruising on NOS in November and have signed up already for ours. It is a great way to meet other people on the same cruise with you.

It will be our 2nd time on NOS -- our first was our very first cruise and Navigator -- hooked us on cruising!

Looking forward to a great time over Thanksgiving on her.

My family and I are cruising on the NOS July 26th. It's awesome to see so many positive reviews. This will be my first time on RCI but my 5th time cruising. Any tips for a newbie would be greatly appreciated. :D

Do not miss the ice show, others shows were also very good, bargain was Giovanni had a 4 course meal for lunch that was only 12 dollars ( Giovanni and other pay restaurants are only open for lunch on sea days, chops is only for suite guest for lunch and breakfast)

We love the Navigator and are looking forward to being back on her for Thanksgiving.

As George C posted, the ice show is not to be missed. The ice rink is also open for ice skating several times over the course of the cruise, with sessions for beginners to advanced. If this interests you or anyone in your party, make sure you pack long pants and socks and check the daily compasses for session times.

Visit the helipad, accessed by walking outside on deck 4 all the way forward to the staircase going up to the helipad on deck 5. Have someone take your "I'm the King of the World" photo. Also, on a starlit night, it's the darkest area on the ship to enjoy stargazing.

Visit the "Peek-A-Boo" bridge on deck 10. Go out to the deck through the doors at the very front on the Solarium and continue forward. You'll come to a window that lets you look into the bridge.

Familiarize yourself with the deck plans before you cruise - makes it easier to find your way around.

Be flexible, don't sweat the small stuff, and have a great cruise!

AWESOME TIPS George C and FloridaPalms.....Thank you both. I'm still trying to figure out what excursions to go on. Right now it's between the ATV ride and Dunns river falls in Falmouth.

I was on the Navigator on April 26th. I had Moscato wine every night with dinner and loved it. Didn't think at the time to get the brand. Could you find out what brand of Moscato they serve? I would really appreciate it. TIA!

Skidrow1950: Thanks for the review! DH and I will be on the Navigator in October and nice to hear your enjoyed your cruise.

I do have one question for you, are the hair dryers in the staterooms the kind you must hold down the button while using it?[/QUOTE]

Quick cure is to bring a rubber band (elastic) to keep the hair dryer on

My husband and I are going on our cruise in August. We have a few questions. With the drink packages, is the alcohol premium or well? Is there a Cigar Bar or a place to smoke while on the cruise? Can you bring your own water and drinks on board? What advice would you give to a first time cruiser?

There is a cigar bar on deck 5, forward, called the Connoisseur Club. Otherwise, inside smoking is limited to the casino. There is outside smoking allowed on one side of decks 4, 11, and 12.

The Premium drink package includes cocktails up to $12 per drink.

Techncially, the only beverage you can bring on board is two 750ml bottles of wine per stateroom. However, they usually allow water and soda.

Leaving on the Navigator of the Seas Sun 24 May...Can you recommend a good spot on the ship to "escape"?...Meaning: a good place, quiet, in the shade? A place to read or chill out from time to time? Thanks for the great tips!
