WCB reported that the basic plan, so far, for the WC 2017 is westbound, through the Panama Canal, Hawaii S. Pacific, Japan, Korea, India, Suez Canal and Med. 110 days.

See their thread, post #383 (report 101).

I hate waiting for the itinerary but wait we must as HAL execs say there was no clear winner from the surveys HAL did so they are probably redesigning the itinerary. There was a suggested port list presented on the 2015 WC but no hand out as there was on the 2014 for the 2016 WC. There were also comments about changes to the 2015 WC, so we will just have to wait! Would be nice to go back to Japan... There are unstable regions present or cropping up everywhere - heck RCI cancelled Puerto Vallerta due to violence.

Thanks for the responses. Guess I was off a few years, I followed Kween Karen on her WC but thought that was than a few years ago. Any way, we are approaching retirement where a WC is in the cards but will probably wait until they do a South Africa trip. Going through the Med is something we have pretty much covered.

If HAL does the Med in 2017, I think it might be time in 2018 to do the S. Africa again.

Good luck!

How does that work? You book before its out or before you even know the itinerary? Any advantage to doing that?

You can do a pre-booking just like an FCC but with more specific requests like cabin number (we have a distinct favorite and this will be the 4th or 5th time for that cabin), dinner requests. No advantage except we are fairly certain that we will get our favorite cabin. Our TA says HAL's computers are not quite ready to input everything but our requests have been noted. It is $100 per person, fully refundable.

Anyone want to guess if the 2017 WC will go south around Africa versus the Med route? I think the last WC to do that was 2010.

We are hoping for that! This would be our first WC! I guess it is 50/50.

I am keeping our fingers crossed😳

Denise :)

Is the $100 the whole deposit or just for the pre-booking?

I see, and I am sure it is fully refundable if done before the cut offs. I guess once the cruise comes out you "firm" it up?

Ours as well but if it goes through the Med we will probably wait until 2018. Not sure if we will take multiple WC's. I have also been looking at Oceania's, it's a bit more but it is 180 days and really goes a lot of places we want to see. O'well, just have to be patient until more details come out.

I just got an email from a TA announcing the itinerary for the 2017 world cruise. It has it going to Hawaii, Japan, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Jordan and the Med. Full itinerary is below.

I'm happy to see overnights in Beijing, but I was hoping for Australia and the South Pacific. Probably going to give it a pass and cross my fingers for 2018.

see the roll call for the ports scheduled for the 2017...does not include Africa, but is one I really like. the $100 is a pre booking and enables you to the first choice on certain items or is fully refundable if you do not want to go.....we are going and we prebooked while on the 2015 WC

Thanks for the info, I do like aspects of this, the time in Asia especially. We will have to figure out whether to do this, do the Oceania cruise (which on a cost per day basis is actually cheaper than HAL), or wait for a later WC.
