Price drops after final payment (just asking)

yes, and often you will see the price drops after final payment date, and as the cruise gets closer, if it is not selling well... that is the benefit of ES, as you can bank on those price drops which are excluded versus other rates - they often drop prices after final payment for exactly that reason (so EVERYONE booked cannot get the price reduction). as noted, you are qualified for price drops within 2 days of sailing.

Absolutely.....keep checking. It is AFTER final payment that the biggest drops occur...with ES you will then get OBC all the way up to several days before sailing. There have been cruises where we have amassed LOTS of OBC (as much as $760 on our Med cruise). Don't give up, it could be worth $$$$ to you....and that is the "perk" of ES rate.

As others have said, don't stop looking, at least until your category is sold out.

We also got several hundred in OBC due to price drops after final payment. Finally the category sold out so I looked less frequently, I did check a few times just to see if it opened back up for some reason.

Remind me how to use the fare viewer: will the category stop showing if it is sold out?

I just sent my PVP a screen shot to see if I can use the lower price I see on Fare Viewer.

Yes, they remove sold out categories. Also note, those rates aren't "correct". They appear to include port charges but not taxes. I made a bookmark and put in there what my current rate was per fare viewer, so it made it easy for me to see if the rate was lower.

Something I saw today on c/critic made me think to call Carnival this evening and I am sooooooooo happy that I did. I received $190.00 taken off the balance I owe for my trip and also, have received a $50.00 OBC. Will I keep checking...you bet I will.

Keep in mind all discounts don't show under fareviewer. It's better to do the mock booking and add yor VIFP #. I almost missed my first obc because casino offer doesn't show as well as military and so on. Don't know if past guest or resident special works on there either. I was waiting for the casino offer to pop back up, so I was checking my offers under Carnival logoin.

There is no one on my roll call!!!!!! That is what made me think to ask anout price drops.

I've had my roll call open since February and not a person has stopped by!

Oh, my, you'll have the ship to yourself!

Keep checking as it gets closer to sailing (if you are ES) because some may open up due to people canceling or upselling. Never give up.
