Taxi from Boston to cruise terminal

Can anyone suggest what the cost would be for a taxi from the Logan International Airport in Boston to the cruise ship terminal?

$25-30. The accessible Silver Line bus is free with one accessible transfer.

A Boston taxi should be on the meter from Logan to Black Falcon. The estimated price I'm seeing is an initial fare of $2.60, 3.6 miles for $12.42, tunnel toll of $5.25, Logan Airport fee of $2.25, and 15% tip of $3.38 for a total of $25.90. The taxi should take the Ted Williams tunnel directly to the Seaport area where it is only a few blocks to Black Falcon Terminal. After 9 am there should be no traffic. The mileage will vary depending on which terminal you arrive at with Terminal A being the furthest.

What is the Silver Line Bus and where would we catch it?

How close does it come to the cruise dock?

Thanks

Look on the Middle Right side of the map for Black Falcon Ave, you'll see there is a stop right there and a map of where it and the rest of the "T" goes.

Silver Line

The Silver Line is the newest "T" offering that was built to service the South Boston Waterfront area and the airport. It is an articulated bus that goes from South Station to either the airport (SL1) or the Black Falcon terminal(SL2). A while ago they stopped charging fares to folks who board at Logan Airport. I think they did it to speed up the bus's progress around the airport where it stops at all four terminals. Clueless folks boarding the bus with luggage and no tickets or exact change really slowed down the service.

So what you do is to hop on the Silver Line at the airport (lower level for terminals A, B, & C) and ride to the World Trade Center indoor station (not the outside street stop at WTC). Be sure to tell the driver you want to get off there - if no one requests the stop and there are no folks waiting in the station, the bus will go through without stopping. You then take the escalator up to the mezzanine and take the elevator back down to the opposite track where you take the SL2 bus to Black Falcon terminal. If you get off at the WTC outside street stop, you lose your free fare because you are outside the turnstiles and must pay to get the SL2 bus.

This takes 45 min- 1 hour depending on which terminal you get on at and the transfer time. The SL1 buses have luggage racks - you want to get on at the rear door for easiest access. The SL2 buses do not have racks, but there is space near the rear door to accommodate luggage next to you. These buses are usually uncrowded, particularly the SL2.

There is one low step to get on the bus. It is certainly no worse than any rental car shuttle. I used to commute on the Silver Line and I often use it to go to and from Logan Airport from Alewife T Station at the end of the Red Line.

Hi Carol, Thank you so much for the info. We are arriving on Friday and renting a vehicle. On Sat. we will drop our bags off at the cruise terminal, check in and than return the vehicle to the airport.

Taking the T, back to the cruise terminal sounds like it will work great for us.

Do you know what the price is for the T?

Thanks, Charliebeth

The Silver Line is free from the airport.

What you do it to take the rental car shuttle back to one of the terminals like C or E and hop on the Silver Line (lower level for terminals A, B, & C - outside for E) and ride to the World Trade Center indoor station (not the outside street stop at WTC). Be sure to tell the driver you want to get off there - if no one requests the stop and there are no folks waiting in the station, the bus will go through without stopping. If you get off at the WTC outside street stop, you lose your free fare because you are outside the turnstiles and must pay to get the SL2 bus. You cannot do a free transfer at Silver Line Way.

This takes 45 min- 1 hour depending on which terminal you get on at and the transfer time.

Hi Carol, thank you so much for your help.

In your opinion, what would be the best (fastest) terminal to catch the Silver Line to the Cruise Terminal?

Thanks, Charliebeth
