These are terrible locations for the new single cabins...they should rebuild one of the current decks for this project...Now public areas are downgraded with this plan...the casino will really suffer as half the floor space will be gone..where are they going to put all those slot machines?? Now the Queens room will have only one main access...and one tiny alleyway past cabins..And I sure the art sales or the photo center will be going in where the Winter Garden is currently.

I agree about the changes in access to the Queens room. On cocktail party nights, there will be less space to queue.

I would get rid of the art gallery and move the photos over there. Does anyone buy any of the art on board? I would hate to see the photo gallery take over the Winter Garden.

Another thought about the single cabins is service. I don't think they're near any crew service areas, so the cabin stewards are going to have to push their carts a long way. I doubt they're going to like working these cabins.

As for the casino, they'll have to rearrange things for a mix of tables and machines. But is it ever busy? I admit we tend to keep early hours, but from what I've seen, it doesn't need all the space it has now.

Hi,

You have a good point about the location of the Koningdam's single cabins. However, I am booked on the seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise that departs on January 29, 2017. Hopefully, the seas won't be too bad. Based on the renderings that I have seen, I will like the ship's interiors.

Chuck

I like the renderings that I have seen too. The dining room though really reminds me of the MDRs on Celebrity's Solstice class ships.

My KONINGSDAM trip is next spring, so unfortunately it won't be the trip that you are on. Also I'll be canceling that trip though if the historic steam paddlewheeler DELTA QUEEN gets her exemption from SOLAS by the U.S. Congress.

I'm sure they'll put in service closets, but I was thinking about hampers full of laundry, which normally are taken into a crew stairwell. I hate to imagine stewards trundling their cleaning carts and laundry carts through the atrium or other very public space.

I was having a look at prices for these new single cabins for TA's in late 2016 and found that the fare was almost identical to a double cabin with the 75% single supplement.

So, I am wondering why they are adding these new cabins if the fare is same. Unless they are planning to raise the single supplement on double cabins to 100%??

my guess will be that until the singles are fully booked - there will be no solo-doubles.

Double occupancy means double auto-tips, double bar expenses, double purchases in the shops - in most cases.

Let's hope not! :eek::eek::eek:

Being able to book a balcony without having to pay 200% is one of the things that sets Cunard apart from many other cruise lines.
