caviargal Posted September 21, 2015 #101 Share Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Whist Jazzbeau works on his review would appreciate your input on what to wear/pack especially for dinner/capt's dinnerThx Carole For the Welcome party, Farewell Party and Chef's Table, I wear either a dress (for me, an LBD, wrap dress or for cooler temps, a sweater dress) or black slacks with a sparkly top. Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted September 21, 2015 Author #102 Share Posted September 21, 2015 Thx for the answer but the question was for Jazzbelle. Carole Jazzbelle says she wore black slacks and a fancy blouse for the Captain's dinner. The only skirt she packed was a print peasant skirt which she wore twice. We like to freshen up and change into nicer clothes for dinner, but she thought that dining attire on this cruise was more casual than on our 2013 AMA Rhine cruise [e.g. men wearing shorts to dinner, even though it wasn't really hot] -- many people just wore their sightseeing clothes to dinner. I know a lot of places in Europe ask you to buy a "permit" to take pictures, especially in Russia, but I didn't see any such signs at Giverney. We I visited and tried to take a picture I was almost accosted by one of the attendants. Nobody said anything, so I just snapped away. [i never use flash.] It was a rainy day, so the staff were more worried about wet umbrellas than cameras.

Thx Carole There was a Tram stop just up the embankment from where the ships were docked, which connected to the Metro at the Gare Perrache stop -- made it very easy to use transit to get anywhere. Yes. In fact, it is so close that you can see the tram stop from the boat. Take it downriver, one stop to Perrache. In the other direction, a few stops to Guillotière, and you can join with the Métro there as well.
