We sail on all cruise lines. You never know what is going with the staff at the time you are on board. Could have been the lady that sailed before us and staying on for a back to back. She went to the Top complaining about people smoking on their balcony. I wondered if she complained about the smoke coming into the promenade deck inside from the casino? It was pretty strong there. I never smelled smoke on my balcony. I will never know what caused the staff to be unhappy. I do know I will never sail RCCL again. And that's okay.

So "the lady complaining about smoke from the promenade deck......" caused all the staff to have a bad attitude. That must be it! Too funny!!!:D

Were you on the OP's cruise? I was on the week before and the staff we encountered were wonderful. Not sure if there was a lot of staff changeover between the 2 cruises or not. We wanted to duplicate our cruise too because it was so wonderful so we booked again onboard. :)

My daughter, and I enjoyed the staff in so many areas, had excellent service in the WJ on our May cruise. Perhaps some of the staff doesn't want to leave GVS, which will happen in November. :-( :-)

staff was disorganized (seems lots of new people many very little english they knew) , getting a water coffee or tea was very annoying. cafe promenade and buffet food was very low brow. i did think some staff was very friendly and in the casino also.

i went on the summit and had the worst sour puss staff i ever seen, perhaps goldstien has cut his staffs they work long hours for little pay and are exhausted.

Do you have any facts to support this?

Good lord....

We have noticed on our last three cruises that there was a different vibe with a majority of the crew. They don't have the same pep in their step, smile on their face, song in their voice that used to be there. We attribute what we have observed to staff cuts. The crew has always worked long, hard hours for little pay and of course no benefits. I think they are simply exhausted.

i agree, staff cuts mean more work for them , and i observed food budget cuts as well. not sure my next move as far as cruises go.

oh boy look at the cheerleaders, god forbid you didnt like something. next time go to the wind jammer and look at the cheap dessert selection and tell us they havent made budget cuts. you also have staff working like dogs. go talk to some , they told me 12-14 hour days.
