Sand and Seas Posted September 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2015 Can anyone give us some info on using a certificate on Princess Cruises? My son has been offered one from Venetian/Palazzo that says it is good for 3-15 day cruises. He can play up from an inside cabin to get a better room like a balcony or mini-suite. What are the fees for Princess? Are there any extra benefits in the casino on board? Any information is appreciated as we have never sailed on Princess! (We usually get the NCL certificates from CET)

(We usually get the NCL certificates from CET) I love Princess cruise lines and have used certificates from them before. You need to pay the taxes and port fees. The amount depends upon the cruise length. I paid for my own upgrade which was about $300 to go from an inside to a balcony on a 7 day cruise. It depends upon the difference between the two when you book. I would suggest trying to book the Regal or the Royal Princess. These are their two newest ships and they are beautiful. I did not get anything extra by using the certificate. They will send you offers for VIP Casino Cruises after you sail with them. On these you get the Drink card, gifts, free tournaments etc. I did that once and it was nice, but the casino will be super crowded. Sue
Sand and Seas Posted September 26, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted September 26, 2015 Thanks for the information! One thing I forgot to ask- if you are using a certificate will they allow you to book a cabin for one without a single supplement? He sometimes cruises alone and NCL has always allowed it without an extra charge.

nado Posted October 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 3, 2015 We too just received the same promotion that your son did. We are also Platinum members on NCL and get our "free" certificates through Ceasars. We would like to try something new but want to make sure that there are not any downsides. We like cruising on NCL, however we have repeatedly been going to the same ports so we would like to try something different. Hopefully, the "free" cruises are similar to the NCL "free" cruises? If anyone can compare the two programs, please let us know. thank you. Can anyone give us some info on using a certificate on Princess Cruises? Sand and Seas Posted October 29, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted October 29, 2015 I've recently received a 'free' Princess cruise offer directly from Princess but based on my playing at a Station Casino in Las Vegas. It doesn't require a trip to Las Vegas to pick up a certificate. I really had only played there one day last year so I was very surprised to receive this. Has anyone else booked through this offer? Any information would be appreciated!
CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted October 30, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 30, 2015 I'm in the Same boat.......so to speak. lol Been cruise certificates up the wazoo for NCL and now, Princess. I have NCL Escape booked thru CE next month. Just booked Princess for Calif. Coast in Mar. 2016 This will be my First Princess sailing, since I've been so busy with NCL. Then were going Alaska again on NCL in May. Recently went to Harr. Tahoe where Spouse and I both got NCL cruise certificates......so the good news we can bring another couple next year. I book myself to one cabin, spouse in other, and we give keys to our grown kids or family.......whoever else we decide to bring along. Yes, just pay Port charges, taxes. I usually upgrade from Inside to Oceanview or Balcony, depending on Itinerary and cost. Some cruises its $100 each. Some $300 each. In that case, it depends on Itinerary. Like Alaska, we were happy with Ocean view instead of costly Balcony. But yeah, its a Great deal getting the "free" cruises thru casinos!
Sand and Seas Posted October 30, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted October 30, 2015 How was the 'deal' on Princess compared to the NCL cruises? Inside or Oceanview? Port fees? Like you, we have been on lots of NCL so wondering about trying Princess. These 'free' cruises are addicting;)
CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted October 31, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 31, 2015 Sand&Sea-- This will be my First princess cruise, in March. I gotta say, its been Much easier booking on NCL, than Princess. Cruise vouchers were very similar. Both kinds are Inside for me. But NCL now gives us Alaska. And this current Princess voucher were booking is Calif. Coastal. I would recommend Reading Ship reviews before booking your Princess ship. I made the mistake of leaping, before I looked..... So now I'm in the process of Changing ships, to get the better of the two. As a whole, Princess seem to be Older ships, and their refurbish averages 5 years ago! Thats a LONG time ago for refurbish, IMO. Where on NCL, I prefer ships refurb within the past couple years. AND their Princ. employee gave me the Wrong info. when I booked, so that was a pain in the rear. Long story short.......they (princess) have some PROVING to Do, to make a believer out of me. Otherwise, will continue to book NCL, and KNOW what I'm getting.

Any information would be appreciated! I may have gotten the same offer. Did it list specific sailing (12) during 2016 and mention free drinks while playing, tournament, cocktail party, etc? I was surprised to get it since I haven't been on Princess for 3 years but have been on carnival. I jumped on the Hawaiian cruise next October. My offer was for free oceanview for two but booked it solo. No penalty or supplement. Just paying port fees and taxes for one. I feel like I won the lottery! I was surprised to get it since I haven't been on Princess for 3 years but have been on carnival. I jumped on the Hawaiian cruise next October. ! No mention of tournaments, drinks or parties. It offered an inside cabin for 3-7 day cruises for Caribbean, Mexico or Coastal cruise. We have never sailed on Princess and have gotten all of our comped cruises on NCL thru Harrah's/Caesars. I had played one day at Station Casinos last year and it did mention it was for Station customers.
