champagne lover Posted October 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2015 We have decided to purchase the unlimited package when on Escape (5 weeks today - !!), if you purchase it online before is it cheaper than buying onboard. Is there any other advantage of buying beforehand?
Rare Radio Posted October 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2015 I pre purchased the Unlimited Pkg for my Getaway sailing on Oct 17th. The cost was $25/Day instead of $29/day if I purchased on board. . . Radio ;);) .
Coastalbreezes Posted October 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2015 Also pre-booking online saves you the $3.95 activation fee. Tracy
bobg529 Posted October 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2015 There is also a chance, however slight, that the unlimited packages will "sell out". I spoke to one of the staff members on my last cruise and he told me that it doesn't happen often, but that it has happened. It has something to do with limited bandwidth. It seems to me that if you're sure you are going to buy it anyway, why not just do it. [emoji41]

In the past when I've bought it on the ship, I select my internet package the first time I login.
Rare BirdTravels Posted October 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2015 I pre-purchased the internet package for my upcoming sailing on the Dawn. Logistically, how does it work? In the past when I've bought it on the ship, I select my internet package the first time I login. When you log on for the first time on the ship, there will be only one purchase option, the one you have pre-purcahsed for zero cost.

PoolSlider Posted October 10, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 10, 2015 How many devices can you use for the package? Is it done by room or by a specific device?
Rare BirdTravels Posted October 10, 2015 #9 Share Posted October 10, 2015 How many devices can you use for the package? Is it done by room or by a specific device? One at a time. Between personal and work, my DW and I carry 4 phones and 2 iPads (yeah,,,, too much tech). Who ever needs the connections just logs on and it disconnects the previous device. Works fine for us. But, obviously does not work to iMessage between ourselves.
tv77 Posted October 16, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 16, 2015 Can you tell me if you could purchase the unlimited internet package on a daily basis? For example, I want it today, then not until a few days later? Or could you purchase a package for say 3 days, 5 days? Or do you have to purchase it for the duration of your cruise (14 days)? Thank so!

No, with NCL you need to purchase for the whole cruise length.
