1:00 arrival - what to do?

We don't arrive until 1:00 and depart at 10:00. I'm thinking I'd like to spend a couple hours at a nice beach. Which would be recommended? Seaquarium? But after that I'm not sure. What is close to port? Shopping? Food? Everything take USD? I've never been so just looking to maximize our time. Thanks in advance.

We usually spend about three hours at a beach in Curacao- for plenty of sun.

 

Then, we explore Willemstad which is a good little city for walking. (Maps are online.) There is also a trolley train for a short tour of the city.

 

Plenty of shops and restaurants at the port.

Taking a Sunset Catamaran Sail is another option.

 

Maybe you'll see the "Green Flash". :D

What are evenings like there? Do a lot of people stay on ship for dinner or go out? We aren't really foodies, so I'd rather spend my money on other stuff and eat dinner on the ship, unless someone can convince me otherwise.
