I forgot Princess does Formal.  Most other cruise lines are fine with smart casual in the MDR now.

Is it just the MDR or specialty as well on formal nights?

Just curious where I'll be allowed to eat without a suit jacket 🙂

Doing a Christmas cruise, I'll be really annoyed if I have to eat in the buffet on Christmas Day because they made it formal!

Specialty dining has always been Smart Casual.  You do not need to wear anything more upscale than Smart Casual on any night.  Have a nice turkey dinner.

MDR on any night. Sport jackets are not ever required.

It's been many, many years since a jacket and tie have been a "requirement" on Princess unless you feel it necessary. It saves a lot of room in your suitcase for more important items.
