BrightyB Posted December 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2015 The overall price of our Coral Princess cruise has been reduced approx. $400 for two since final payment was made. Any tips on getting some compensation from Princess? We already have shipboard credit but, in the interest of customer service, would be nice to receive something else! CruiserBruce Posted December 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2015 Princess is not obligated to give you anything for price drops after final payment. They might give you an upgrade, or OBC, or nothing. Contact whomever you booked with and ask. That is the common path.
Maddle Posted December 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2015 Correct, there is no obligation, but sometimes there is generosity. For instance, perhaps they will offer you an upgrade. Call your TA or Princess directly (depending on how you booked initially.) Maddle
Colo Cruiser Posted December 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2015 I would not count on any additional. Is it possible? Yes. If you wanted a cheaper price it would have been best to wait to book until after final payment. ;) My new suv went down too a couple of weeks ago but they balked at me when I suggested a rebate. :(

Sometimes a popular cruise will stay about the same, or won't go as low as a really good sale. I think your best "cheaper price" is right when the new schedule is released, and to watch the sales afterward. It's always a gamble. To the OP: I still say call and accept whatever the outcome is. cvpends Posted December 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 22, 2015 If you want such a guarantee, book Carnival using their Early Saver rate. I have gotten thousands of dollars of OBC after final payment by doing that. Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
cwayne Posted December 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2015 I was actually able to get add'l OBC when the cabin went down after final payment. The agent went directly to Princess Customer Service and based on our past sailings with Princess, they gave us the OBC, which I found to be a very nice gesture on their part. I was prepared for "No, I'm sorry we can't do anything". It appeared as a "goodwill" credit on the booking. :)
