PacificBlizzard Posted January 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Cruise starts in Barcelona and ends in Civitavecchia (Rome). Want to spend more time in Florence. Has anyone ever done this and knows how best to approach Princess about leaving early? OK with forfeiting $$ for the days we are not on ship. Thank you! Pam in CA Posted January 5, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Contact Princess and make the arrangements. It shouldn't be a problem but you do need to clear it with Princess first.
paul929207 Posted January 5, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Note that the port will be Livorno. Florence is about 100 miles or so in land
waltd Posted January 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Just have a backup plan if for any reason the ship does not make it to port.

Astro Flyer Posted January 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Note that the port will be Livorno. Florence is about 100 miles or so in land Google Maps shows the distance as 56 miles but Florence is still a considerable distance away from the port and it would take some research for the best option to get there. Livorno to Florence is slightly over one hour of driving distance, without traffic. For a day trip, you can hire a car (or a van if you have a group) to visit Florence as well as Pisa, then back to the ship before 4 pm.
