Serenity is definitely a must, it was always a nice peaceful atmosphere with a great view.

 

The comedy shows were hilarious, except for 1, but be sure to get there early for seats, at least 25 min in advance.

 

Practically every time we are in Nassau we go to Atlantis. Some say it is pricey, but we feel it is well worth it. The beaches/pools/aquarium/casino gives you plenty to do. Also, you never know who you may run into, it's a celebrity hotspot!

 

In Freeport we used a taxi at the pier to go to Junakoo Beach Club, it was $14 round trip and well worth it. Nice beach, with a great bar tender ;)

GOSH, Thank you all so much for all of your information. I have now included most of that information in what my husband calls the "trip Bible". Going to do the steakhouse the night we are in Nassua. Excited to try it. Also looking forward to Guys burgers.

 

We are going to do a beach day in Florida and an AL in Nassau, which I am still working on. In Freeport it will be a snorkeling trip with Pat and Diane.

 

Funny the difference in the roll calls since we last cruised last year. Our roll call is very quite. It was always fun to hear other folks plans and someone join one of their tours. Guess it is the day of social media.

My husband and I are going to be on the Pride in Nov to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Also our first cruise.

I am so enjoying everyone's helpful info. I fluctuate between extreme nervousness and extreme excitement. I don't want to miss anything.

I hope to go to David's the night of our actual anniversary (on the 29th)

We have booked a Vista suite. Should I still consider the FTTF?

What is roll call?

I plan to do ship sponsored excursions just for the peace of mind that offers me.

Welcome to Cruise Critic!:) The Vista Suite is the best cabin category on the whole ship, IMO. We had VS #4237 on our last Pride cruise. Even though I Book Suites, I purchase FTTF. The only "Suite perks" are VIP check-in, priority boarding, and debarkation. FTTF gets you several other benefits.

 

Your roll call is a thread on this site where a group of fellow Cruise Critic members that will be on your sailing will chat leading up to the cruise. Go to the Carnival Roll Calls Forum, and use the "Find Your Roll Call" tool.:)

OMG, those Vista suites are AMAZING. We always booked 8268 on Miracle, Legend and Spirit. Loved going right out of the cabin and right up the stairs to Lido. And those seperate rooms....oh, man....unfortunately, CCL wised up and upgraded the category (believe it or not, they used to be just "balcony cabins") and started charging more so it's no longer an option for us, but it was a great experience while we could do it!! You will be spoiled forever! And that BALCONY.....you are in for a treat!!! :D

You're welcome!:) Don't worry about getting spoiled. It doesn't happen to all of us. Although I've booked Suites for the last few years, I could still sail in a Balcony or an OV any time. Enjoy that VS! A sail away party on that huge balcony (with food ordered from Room Service;)) is a lot of fun.:D

I second the kayak excursion in Freeport. The kayaking is through a creek through the mangroves. Absolutely amazing. Then there is a short nature walk to a private beach just for your small group, where they will have a picnic lunch waiting for you. Can't wait to do this excursion again!

Everybody deserves to be spoiled sometimes!!! We have always had some of the BEST cabins on the ship, then "economics" stepped in, we bought a second home (summer camp) and now we are just lucky to cruise so we "downgraded ourselves." :p Those cabins and balconies hold great memories, but the important thing is we are on a CRUISE! Also, Vista suites on spirit class ships are the BEST and they are snatched up fast, so I'm glad you had the opportunity to book it. And planning is half the fun, so ENJOY! :D

Karen, I think you are right! It has been a long time, maybe it never actually was a time, when we could be "spoiled" with 5 sons, including one that is mentally /physically disabled. Now is that time! And I am looking forward to being waited on for a change.....

Our cabin is 4228. My husband really wants it to be the trip of a life time. First time traveling without kids in 15 years. We were able to get a sitter to care for our son, and that is going to cost as much as our cruise. Peace of mind, money well spent.

Not only did you get the best cabin category on the ship, you got one of the two best cabins of all (4228 & 4237)!:D I did a lot of research when booking my VS, and came to the conclusion that the Deck 4 VS are the BEST! Congrats on snagging it and enjoy!:)

Shaky Beef is right, EVERYONE wants those 2 cabins on deck 4. We just happen to like being on deck 8 because we like being a staircase away from Lido, but even so, we have never seen deck 4's available.

For Freeport I definitely recommend the UNEXSO Dolphin Encounter! A quick scenic boat ride with friendly and knowledgable staff. Then you arrive to the dolphins and are given the chance to get in the water with them, pet them, kiss them, etc. Great for someone who does not necessarily want to swim with them. It was WONDERFUL!

Agree 10000000 percent. Have done these on Pride and Legend.......they are at the top of the line.

deck.....each time, we were so mesmerized, the only words that came to us
were OH... MY... GOD.

Last time in Nassau we took the jitney bus to Melia resort. Nice place, but food was very expensive. ($15+ for a hot dog!) In Freeport, my son and I took a glass bottom boat ride which was fun. We got to see sharks!

Glass bottom boats, kayaks, dolphins.... I can see how easy it can be to get hooked.

Those seperate rooms are SO GREAT because one of you can sleep late or go to bed early and the other doesn't have to tip toe around the cabin. 5sonz, unless you want to be totally surprised, you can go to youtube and type in 4228 or 4237 on any of the spirit class ships (Pride, Miracle, Spirit and Legend-they are all the same) and you will be able to take the grand tour! :D I think we are as excited for you as you are for yourself! ;);)

I have been on the pride 3x's and I have a blast each time love the comedy shows we did the kayaking in Freeport for my first time loved it but the next day I could not move my arms to much I worked every muscle in my arms shoulders and back

I have a love /hate relationship with our kayaks. My hubby would probably love to do a kayak excursion.
I seem to be in constant battle to get the oars right.
We would have to get in shape over the summer. But seriously, I love being in the middle of a lake, with not a care in the world.
