Royal Suite Class program - Roll Out Date?

Recommended Posts

What time was your embarkation? Did you get these looks anywhere else other than while embarking?

Genie requested we board at noon (we were there at 11:35 and onboard in the room by 11:46) They try to stagger the arrival of the rooms they cover. We haven't gotten it since embarkation, except from the folks that remember seeing us cut them in line. Then again we haven't done any of the reserved theater seating yet so I can't speak to that. Embarkation just made me a little uncomfortable since every porter, manager, and employee made a point of star class (in their defense, they were training so they were still explaining to the porters). I've spoken to a few star class guests and the earliest arrival we've seen was 11:30.

It would be nice if they did it smoother, but hopefully with practice they will make it a bit more seamless and better blended with the masses. The first time we sailed in the RLS it was a bit of the same as what I think you experienced. In all honesty I find it embarrassing but I do like the expedited process.

Below is a quote from our experience and it might remind your's yesterday.

Embarkation

It went very smooth. When we checked in at the suite area Robert was sent over to greet us and he was our escort, no handler, no that sounds wrong… he was our “guy”. He walked with us through the security process, check in, group photos, muster wrist band for our son and then onto the ship. We arrived at port at noon so we were able to right on board. He was going to take us up to the CL, but we thanked him as we knew where we were going. Truth be told we were also embarrassed as he held his papers in the air, cut into lines and made an ordeal of the fact that we were VIP. Anyone who has met me and our family know that is not who we are. We have since met Robert on other occasions as we are suite cruises and we make a point of saying hello. For recent stay in the RLS we just let him escort us to the gangway door and we were on our way. Thankfully no papers were held in the air during the process this time as he has discovered that we are relaxed cruises and not the ones who need to be status inflated.

There were no papers in the air, but yes it was the same feeling. Cutting elevator lines, etc. Of course I LOVE getting on board faster, but if they could do it a bit more incognito, that would be great. Normally we arrive at the port so early there are no check in lines but as we were asked to show up a little later, there were plenty of people queuing up everywhere.

I think they'll iron it out eventually. We still had to argue with every porter about why they shouldn't take our luggage...

Porters were definitely an issue. They insist on taking your bags and tell you that you don't know what you are doing. They're wrong..... Our bags arrived at our room 5 minutes after we did. Other than a small miscommunication in meeting up with our Genie, it was smooth and painless 5 minutes from getting our luggage to the proper person to waking in the ship and straight to put suite.

Reserved theater seating was very nice. Genie asked which exact seats we wanted and they were ours.

To the person who asked if you can be booked in 2 cabins - they don't allow that. I'm traveling with a best friend in Star and thought about getting an inside just in case. :) It wasn't possible.

Can you tell me if you can lick what goes on the mini bar? Diet Coke vs Sprite for example? Or apple juice for daughter ? Could someone find out if Fanta in a bottle would be an option as a surprise for hubby? Thank you!!!

You can definitely pick what you want in the fridge. You Genie will ask what you want. Not sure about Ganta. If it's available on the ship the you can get it.

Data point: Sky Class, Allure

Was told by our stateroom attendant the large glass 750ml bottle of Evian would be replenished once empty.

Someone reporting on Oasis in Sky class said they were told the Evian wouldn't be replaced, said he could go to the SL and get a different brand of bottled water. I'm sure they are still working out all of the kinks and confusion.

Question: laundry service....is it same day turn around or next day for Star Class. It will really determine how much a pack

We have the room attendant my husbands shorts after he spilled something in them in the morning, we had them hanging up near our closet by evening turn down.

If you have requests for when you need something back, just let them know, we've gotten things back within 3 hours.

That is regretful for your DH, but great to hear as a future Sky Cruiser. :) I need to check your Twitter feed again.

Are you Andrew 1720 on Twitter?

Indeed I am.:) The 1720 is for the SLS 1720.

The only reason why I have Twitter is for Periscope. I do little on it, and am not very familiar with its capabilities. However your reports give me the reason to learn.:D

That's great news. Thanks.

Well, got a different story about the watet last night. Was told it was supposed to be just the one bottle. But he'll try to get the ok from his supervisor to give extras due to his misquote.

That's not good! Specialty bottled water is listed under the amenities for Sea, Sky and Star Class. One bottle is hardly an amenity. I'm not sailing until next month so maybe we'll get a definitive answer by then!

This is true on oasis. The sL gives bottled water. The brand is ice river springs.
