Carryon and reboarding in San Pedro

We have 2 large beach chairs (folding) in carriers much like a golf bag. I have seen how checked luggage is piled high on carts and crushed by other suitcases. I don't want these chairs to be damaged. Can I check my other bags, get my carryons into the cabin then exit the ship to go get the chairs out of the parked car to carryon to protect them?? Yes, there will be plenty of time as long as I am allowed off and on the ship at will before we sail.

Yes. Only thing of concern is whether they fit through the Security scanner if you're not going to give them to a porter.

If they don't fit, they get manually examined; life goes on.
