Allure of the Seas Live March 13-27 -- High Tides and Great Vibes

Recommended Posts

I'm just gonna post some random pictures from the trip home today.

I will start by saying, I love the Delta pre-flight safety videos. They are hilarious.

There are quite a few ships in port today, I believe it was 7. One is not visible in this photo.

I prefer this view from the deck of a ship, as we are sailing out of the port.

How about some "mile high club" food porn. One had the kids meal.

Lisa had the beef sliders.

I had a sad salad with chicken. It wasn't worthy of a photo.

So we arrived at home just as planned at 5 PM. The flight was a little turbulent along the way but things went off without a hitch. Lucy the cat even made a guest appearance upon our arrival.

First she stated her disapproval. See Maureen, you can turn your cat into a ferocious beast.

And then she was back to her normal self.

Too funny.

Our cat was the same way for the first day. Doing her best "purr, I missed you" one minute to "I'm pi**ed that you left me and I'm going to bite your hand" the next.

Dogs on the other hand are always so welcoming.:D

The waters of Lake Erie are nowhere near as nice as the Caribbean Seas. That isn't sand in the water around the island. It's more apt to be something you don't want to think about. [emoji12]

Yes that is a foot not that far away from my elbow. Maybe it's time for some airplane shaming.

They won't be needing these plane deicers or snow removal equipment anytime soon. I hope.

Almost home.

I did the exact same thing! I said this fool thinks he has to go all the way to London, he lives in Canada! :o And, I'm from New England, you would think I would know better.

Also, when I saw the picture of Owen with the stewards, I burst into tears. Non-cruise people just wouldn't understand. Safe travels to you all! See you next September! :D

Is that a threat or a promise for September? You better get more Kleenex ready possibly for steward stories.

Yes! I'll let you and Andrew handle the reviews. I'll just sit back with a Corona in my hand and laugh at all of your jokes.

I might just be sitting beside you holding a Corona in one hand and a device in another posting live.

After going through a stack of mail and even more laundry I have decided that I'm going to do is a post cruise wrap up in the next few days. I will check through my photos as well to see if I missed anything along the way. Having gone through a stack of mail and even more laundry tonight it is time to flake out.

Once that is done I will scan and post the compasses in two separate threads. One for eastern and one for western.

Glad you made it home OK Andrew. Looking forward to the wrap up whenever it comes. Take some time off, you've done an incredible job.

If you have the Adventure Ocean compass I would love to see it scanned too.

Glad you had smooth sailing down the 402

I kept the ones for the second week, but not the first. When I post them I will title the thread to state that they have kids compass too.

The 402 went perfect. We got off at Hickory Ridge and our end destination is near Lucan. The nicest part is is having Nexus as the Blue Water Bridge took all of 2 minutes. Toronto is an hour closer, but to fly from Detroit is much cheaper. I was amazed to see no ice on Lake Erie or Huron. There was even a freighter headed out onto Lake Huron when we crossed the bridge.

At least that foot appears to be "covered"....I have a photo from a recent flight of a woman perching her bare foot on the armrest of the seat in front of her, her toes wrapping around it like talons [emoji13]

I haven't boarded a flight since without thinking about that image. Airplane shaming award for sure!

Looking forward to your wrap up!

Thank you for your wonderful reviews these last two weeks. My trip is now less than a week away on ATS for the Western route. I am glad you had such a wonderful early spring day to come home too. I read that the Soo Locks opened earlier this year that the past two years so not surprised about the freighter sighting!

Not to hijack, or needlessly bring this up again, but since this is the only thread which I've been part of where Periscope was mentioned.... am I the only one getting solicitations from scantily clad women through the app??

Ended up uninstalling the app, as I had to (daily) BLOCK users who were trying to follow me. I won't need the app anymore anyway, but can reinstall it if/when the need arises!

Tom

Not just you, I also have to block those nasty new followers on a daily basis. Blocking is easy so it's not that big of a deal.

Andrew, I thoroughly enjoyed all the posts and periscopes too. Thank you so much for taking the time to do that!

When you post the reviews and compasses, will you paste the link in this thread too? That way we will all get a notification. Thank you!

Yup. I have not even started my Periscope yet of my upcoming cruise on Allure 5-15-16. I have read profiles of some of the people that request to follow me.

If it has anything Sexual, or inappropriate, they are being blocked!!!

WOW!!! Thank you and your family for letting us "tag" along. I came late to the party. I just did the B2B in 4 days. Sorry to have missed the "scopes". We will be on the Allure in less than 2 months and this review REALLY got me even more stoked (if that is possible). I appreciate all the time and effort you put in to this LIVE review. It was a fun read (ride).

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. I really enjoyed the post & periscopes. It really helped out and now I am looking for more periscopes. I know a couple of people have agreed to post them since watching yours. Thank you for your time. I will look forward to the Western Compass.
