Port Load ?

We will be visiting Cozumel next spring along with 17,175 of our closest friends (4 other large ships there on the same day) :(

 

Does anyone know how this many people will impact the port? Is this considered a "normal" day in Cozumel, or unusually heavy?

 

We're considering just staying on the ship if the crowds will be so big as to ruin the day in port...

I think 6 ships is a "full" day, so 4 isn't quite that bad.

Cozumel is a port that easily handles a BIG port load. Don't worry! :D

We were in there with seven ships last week. Didn't feel overly crowded. Cozumel is the busiest port in the Western Carribean. They often get over 20,000 visitors in port on a given day.

As others have said, 17k isn't terrifically high and Cozumel is well equipped for those loads. That said: if you happen to want an excursion that has limited capacity, you may want to book early.

We've been there with more ships in port and really didn't notice feeling crowded. In fact, we didn't notice much difference from times when there were fewer ships there.
