Boarding in Canaveral

I have done a search regarding this question and seem to have no consensus.

When leaving from Canaveral are they currently enforcing the assigned boarding time? No more arriving early? Will they make you wait outside the terminal until your assigned time? Are they still boarding the ship by zones?

Thanks in advance....

The staggered boarding time program has not been put in place at Port Canaveral. They are boarding by zones.

There is no such thing as 'staggered boarding' -- only staggered check in. After staggered check in, boarding will be as usual -- weddings, diamond, platinum, FTTF, VIPs and then zones.

Heads Up.... Pt Canaveral will be the next Port to start staggered check in time but as of right now, no date has been announced.

As for having FTTF as well as Diamond/Platinum and Suite Passengers, everyone has to pick a check in time but you can show up whenever you want and will be allowed to enter the terminal.

My suggestion is to keep checking under Your Profile as very soon the staggered check in time box will soon appear

Elaine, where did you learn this? The link above shows dates that are pretty far out. To be having one added in the interim just seems counter-intuitive.

What is the earliest you can board if platinum. Shuttle is at 9am which seems stupid.

We are Platinum and have usually arrived at the port around 10:30AM. We've been able to enter the port and check-in and then sit until we are called. Sometimes as early as 11:00 - 11:30. Sometimes later depending on what time the previous cruise arrived, Customs inspections, etc.

Check-in time and boarding time are 2 different things.

BTW, an earlier poster said in April that PC was soon to be a 'Staggered Check-in' port. We are on the Magic in Jan, 2017 and Check-in Time is not part of your on-line check-in at this time.

We were walking on around 10:15 just 2 weeks ago. We had FTTF and our friends are Platinum. We were eating lunch in the Cucina by like 11:15! We didn't wait in any lines the entire process, never sat down to wait, etc... Got in, walked up to the initial check-in, went through security (which took like an extra minute just as people were putting their things up there), then walked right to a Carnival check-in, got our pictures taken, S&S cards, skipped taking the group photo, up the escalator, showed ID again (did have to retake my picture because it was goofy looking he said), then walked right onto the ship.

We're on an April cruise out of Canaveral (on the Sunshine) and we do have staggered check-in.

We are leaving out of Port Canaveral on Dec 10th and have no staggered check-in.

We got there way to early due to Beach Line transfer. Left cocoa beach at 845 so we arrived at 9am. Walked straight through to platinum loung only to wait until 1045 to board. Wish Beachkine would reconsider transfer times from Comfort suites. I could have slept an hour or TWO later.
