hvbaskey Posted May 4, 2016 #76 Share Posted May 4, 2016 Do the suites on Infinity have balconies? All suites have balconies, but for more information on the Celebrity Cruise line suites visit: http://www.celebritycruises.com/htmlpage/celebrity-suite-class It will give you details on the type of Suites (Sky through to Penthouse) and a description of the rooms. Hope this helps! Heather
hvbaskey Posted May 4, 2016 #77 Share Posted May 4, 2016 Great to see the updates[emoji3] could someone please advise what are private tours and are these not the ones you book through the cruise? Having only previously cruised around the South Pacific Islands, we have always been told not to book private tours. Sorry to sound ignorant, and enjoy the rest of your cruise[emoji322] Private tours usually refer to those who have booked tours independent of what the cruise line offers. Typically, they are smaller in size (van vs. bus) and offer customized itineraries which suit the needs of the small group. Pros: small group, customized tour, special interest tours, usually less $ Cons: if your van is late, the ship leaves without you (this can be avoided by preplanning with your tour operator to get back to port in plenty of time). TeeRick Posted May 4, 2016 Author #79 Share Posted May 4, 2016 is there a promenade deck where you can walk around the ship with a few detours?thanks in advance for your answer. Yes you can walk the track on deck 11 above the pool deck. Also deck 4 you can walk each side but cannot go all the way around without cutting through inside. Heather Heather has a very good answer. I'll just add that you might be able to get info from your roll call group on private tours and then set up tours with some of them in advance of your cruise. Go to Trip Advisor to check out what others have rated these tours and read their comments.

No problem. We always need to walk off all of the extra calories on a cruise. I think we need to walk for months after we get back!
taosjellybean Posted May 5, 2016 #83 Share Posted May 5, 2016 TeeRick Thank you so much for the information about your cabin. We have CS 8104 coming up next week on Infinity. Delighted to hear your comments and also about some of the new furniture. Most helpful!

TeeRick Posted May 6, 2016 Author #85 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Hi TeeRick - thanks for fielding questions while you are in transit. My first cruise was through the Panama Canal - it was supposed to be on Infinity, but she developed a mechanical problem so we were on Millennium instead. Still hope to sail on Infinity some day. We will be on the Summit in just a few weeks and are contemplating booking a Fall, 2017 cruise while onboard. If you have the opportunity would you mind seeing what On-Board Booking promotions are being offered. On past cruises we've gotten a lower deposit and some extra OBC to apply to the future cruise, but I'm reading that the policy may have changed - the OBC must be used immediately and the deposit may be nonrefundable if you have to cancel. Any information would be most appreciated. Hope you have a wonderful cruise and enjoy the canal passage. Kay Sorry it took so long to reply. We just booked another cruise today. For oceanview and above two free perks. For suites all 4 perks including premium drink package. We got an S1 sky suite for a 7 day cruise. It came with premium drink package, free gratuities, free unlimited wifi for two, and OBC of $850. Why so much OBC? The suite was $250 OBC for 7 days. Then $300 bonus OBC for booking on the ship. Then an extra $300 bonus OBC "Mother's Day Special". What a great deal I think.
taosjellybean Posted May 6, 2016 #86 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Tee Rick Our onshore concierge said we do have Roger from Honduras. I will tell him hello from you even tho I do not know your name. I will say the prior occupants from 8106. Really nice to know he was great. I just received notice that the ship will be late in boarding due to Customs and Border inspection. Glad to know ahead because San Diego Terminal is not a very nice terminal, and being from San Diego I can show up whenever I want. Hope you have enjoyed your trip and thank you so much for taking time on your vacation to enlighten many many people. Jo Ann
TeeRick Posted May 6, 2016 Author #87 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Joann, Tell him Rick and Linda. Last Nov in Miami we had to wait for the Reflection to clear customs after a trans-Atlantic cruise. It was about 2:30 when we finally boarded.

Enjoy that cruise and thanks again for the information.

taosjellybean Posted May 9, 2016 #90 Share Posted May 9, 2016 Rick, Since we are boarding late on Wed.(my time is 12:45) I need to know if Luminae will be serving lunch. I have been looking forward to it. Cannot find out if it will be open. Would you have any way of finding out? I am truly sorry to bother you but all my other sources have failed. I expect they have a standard practice. Just need to know what it is. Thanks, Jo Ann

In a suite just go to Michael's Club once you board and Erick will direct you to Luminae or to your other options. Your butler will likely also be there. When we got to Miami cruise port for embarkation they had a special waiting area for suite passengers after we checked in. It had food and refreshments and comfortable seats. Once the ship opened they escorted us to Michael's Club. I'm not sure if they do any of this at SD cruise port. Dining in Luminae has been an exceptional experience on this ship. taosjellybean Posted May 9, 2016 #93 Share Posted May 9, 2016 Rick Thank you for the information straight from the horses mouth, so to speak. San Diego is not a user friendly port even for Suiteguests. Limited seating etc. I am so looking forward to Luminae. Hopefully the boarding times are accurate??? We shall see. Enjoy the remainder of your trip. Jo Ann
djzack67 Posted June 1, 2016 #94 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Thanks TeeRick. We will be on the Infinity for our Panama Cruise (San Diego to Fort Lauderdale) a year from now. tikibargirl Posted June 1, 2016 #95 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Can anyone tell me what is the latest time you can disembark off the ship on the day the cruise ends? We are in no rush at all to leave the ship that morning. We have no flight to catch until 11pm that night. we do have a private tour company picking us up to take us (8 people) and our luggage on a tour around Vancouver for 9 hours. I was just wondering what time you HAVE to leave the ship that morning and how they dismiss you.
TeeRick Posted June 2, 2016 Author #96 Share Posted June 2, 2016 totally wanna here about the Coffee Cafe The cruise was awesome! Cafe Al Baccio was our go-to place for specialty coffees every morning. If you have a classic or premium beverage package it is free. The pastries and cookies here are free to everybody and are the best on the ship. Coffee, pastries and bar services any time of day. If you want the regular free coffee on the ship it can be found in the Oceanview buffet area and it is not bad (Lavazza).

tikibargirl Posted June 2, 2016 #98 Share Posted June 2, 2016 In our case, it was around 10am on the Infinity disembarking in Vancouver last week. Did you just take your time El Crucero or did you request getting off at that time? I just need to know my options because I need to contact our tour company and if I can disembark around 10 I will tell them to get there by 10 am so by 10:15 we can be on our way. I haven't been on a cruise in a long long time so I really don't know the routine. Also, do we need to put our luggage outside our door the evening before if we are taking our own luggage off the ship?

They give you a disembarkation card a couple of days before the cruise ends. You check off which 30 minute time slot you wish to disembark. Return the card to your room steward or Guest Relations. As I recall, 9;30 to 10:00 is the latest time slot. Also, do we need to put our luggage outside our door the evening before if we are taking our own luggage off the ship? No, do not put your luggage out the night before if you are going to carry it off. HOWEVER, you must vacate your stateroom by 8 am, everything, so you will be schlepping your luggage all over the ship before you disembark. Depending how much luggage you have, that may not be fun. Sorry El Crucero to be such a pain but is carrying it off our only option if we are not meeting our flight until 11pm that evening? I remember on other cruises that we had to put it out the night before for customs check. That's a lot of luggage for us to push through the ship!!!!!
