GEM Questions For Those Who Have Sailed on Her Recently

We booked under the free $100 per cabin casino credit -- do we get a coupon or

something in our cabin to present in the casino?

Approximately what time will our cabin be ready -- heard they start from the

top deck down? We are on deck 9.

Can we drop off our hand luggage in our cabin when we board or carry it

around with us?

Thanks!

I just came off the Gem on Saturday, April 30. I have a few answers for you...see below

top deck down? We are on deck 9. Deck 10 room was ready at 1:30.

Can we drop off our hand luggage in our cabin when we board or carry it

around with us? We carried ours around with us until 1:30; however, last year, we did drop our bags off in Bliss and when the rooms were announced that they were ready, we picked our bags up.

Thanks!

Thanks! This will definitely help us to organize what goes into our carry-ons vs. checked luggage.

Really don't want to have to carry stuff around if we can drop it off in our

cabin.

Can't say much about the casino credit specifically, but we had OBC from our TA and those were applied to our account the morning of Day 2. They had paper vouchers in our room but when we took them down to customer service desk on the first evening to figure out what to do with them, they said it was automatically applied the next morning to just hold onto the paper copies to show in case of any issues.

Our room on Deck 5 was ready by 1:30 as well.

they make announcements all the time over the speaker system about when the rooms will be ready but honestly once the muster station drill was over, my checked bags where outside my room already so about 3:30ish? I was on the 8th floor back of the ship

We were on board between April 10---21, but under a different promo. Free DSC, which we thought was great.

Our cabin on deck 9 was ready about 1:30ish.

Announcements were made about leaving hand luggage at Bliss Lounge, but we kept it with us. The Grand Pacific MDR was open for lunch, so there is no need to drag stuff to the buffet, where the crew tries to send you.

I love to be seated and waited on during embarkation day.

One of our checked bags was delivered to our cabin quickly, the other was hours later.

Can you take your hand luggage into the Grand Pacific?

The cabins are not opened up by deck, they are made available all at once, typically around 1:30 give or take.

And yes, we bring our carry ons to the Grand Pacific and have a nice lunch until then.
