DO Balcony Anthem of the Seas

Some great pictures of the DO cabins are on this thread. You can see how some pairs of davits are much wider apart and offer a full balcony front view to the sea. The view is blocked a little to the side.

The pictures start at post 1498. The bottom picture has both the close together davits and the wide apart divats. I know m friend stayed in one of these cabins and she had no obstruction when looking straight out.

The pictures can be seen much better on the original thread below.

The UK RCI site tells you whether the obstruction is 50% (no davit) or 75% (davit). Unfortunately on booking a 50% for our trip last Sep the cabin turned out to be 75%. Royal compensated us with a chunk of OBC. Not sure if you can view the UK site from outside the UK though.

However, as others have said, I would go for the Balcony guarantee. A good chance of getting a non obstructed balcony cabin.

These shots are from a thread about a Quantum of the Seas sailing as mentioned in the title of the thread you linked to and we are discussing Anthem here. All of my shots are of that ship. You can see one of your attached shots shows the red bear on the top deck, which is what is on Quantum, not Gigi, the giraffe on Anthem.

Below are shots of both the port and starboard lifeboats I took from North Star. These doesn't show any such wide apart side by side davits.

This was the view from our obstructed balcony on Anthem, cabin 6294. You can see the lifeboat while sitting on the bed in the cabin. The second photo is the view while standing at the railing.

Then the last two are looking to the right and then the left, respectively.

To save $400 pp I'd take the gamble! haha

The first three shots is the view we had from cabin 6292, which is the first balcony on the rear jump section, we initially had on our March Anthem cruise.

sammydh82, Did you find cabin 6294 to be very noisy?

Ours was, all night long it seemed as it was right above the crew service corridor and elevators for Café 270 and Jamie's.

Also we had a problem with one crew member, always the same one, spraying our balcony every time he was cleaning the Promenade deck 5 below. This happened at least three times in a row.

Finally because of our complaints about the noise from below and the balcony spraying problem Guest Services moved us to a deck 10 D1 cabin vacated by the couple who won an aft loft suite for the balance of their cruise at Bingo so we won also even though we didn't play that game. :D

I also suggest booking the guarantee. We got deck 10 d7 assigned for our Jan 2017 sailing, port side aft. This was our third time booking the balcony guarantee, and every time we were in a d6/7 on decks 10, 11 or 12.
