Priority Embarkation

Having purchased an up sell to a suite it is my understanding that we receive priority embarkation. What does that entail? Do we still report to the port at the time listed on our cruise check in documents? I read somewhere they take your luggage for you, so is there a place to check in before the luggage drop off. Do we need to set this us in advance? I cannot find any details on the website.

Show up whenever you want, check your bags at the curb as normal, and go to the suite and VIP line. They will check you in and bring you to the suite waiting area to either be brought on board or have a light snack while you wait to be brought on board.

You didn't say which port, so this is my experience - somewhere when you walk into the terminal (depending on port) there will be a large freestanding sign with a banner that says "Haven and Suites" or something similar - you should be able to go in that room or side area (we've had both) to check in.

If you ask the port agents - they may or may not know where to send you (we've had them push us towards the Latitudes line in Miami, New Orleans, and Seattle)

We've never been able to check in before luggage drop-off, but there might be some port somewhere that does that.

If the ship isn't ready for passengers to board - you'll wait in the Priority area and they will have snacks and drinks and you'll most likely meet the Concierge and their staff.

Have a blast - since booking our first suite - I can't get my husband back to a regular room. :)

Sailed in The Haven in May out of Miami, but it was a surprise for the family (they didn't know I took the upsell :-) ) so we went through the "normal" line for embarkation to prolong the surprise. I am Bronze, so no status to speak of. It took maybe 15-20 minutes total. I honestly don't think we would have been on board much faster had we used the Haven line.

Compared to Royal Caribbean, Norwegian's disembarkation for suite guests is a joke. We just got a "secret" elevator, then were thrown in the line with everyone else.

What time did you arrive at the port? If you had arrived around 10am, you would've enjoyed the Haven waiting area with snacks and beverages until around 11:30am and then escorted to the Haven Lounge on the ship by your concierge way before general boarding.

Hey Guys

I notcied some of you have sailed the Jade and a lot of other ships. Do you know how long it takes from the time the ship reaches a port to how soon you can get off? For example, we arrive in Split at 8am. I am trying to see how soon I can get off so that I can plan an excursion I found.

You would enjoyed the Haven check-in area, been escorted onto the ship, had an elevator reserved and waiting for you, and been escorted into the Haven lounge.

You would have walked past everyone who was waiting.

Did you get off with the concierge. When ever I'm in the Haven or suite, the concierge takes me off and we cut in front of everyone, no waiting at all

Good point. We arrived around 11. We walked right on the ship after check-in. Had I shown up at 10 am, you're correct.
