What's the New York to Bahamas cruise like? Has anyone gone in March?

We went two years in a row in the beginning of March. The first year it was snowing and the river was full of ice. The weather got warmer on the second day the closer we got to Florida. Then last year it was in the sixties and sunny for sail away. Florida and the Bahamas are always warm.
