Tips

We have tips included, however we almost always give additional for those we feel helped to make our trip special. Usually about $10 dollars additional for the cabin attendent- extra for Butler if he/she is very good and at the bars for special service- typically twice during the week 20 at the Martini bar. The bartenders put the money in a bucket and share it. We also give a tip to the Michael's club host/hostess.

Yes..."auto-tip" is the easiest way to get your tips to those who are supposed to get them. For room service, $2-5 is fine, depending on how much they are carrying to you! Coffee and pastry, $2...a full meal, $5 should do it!

I usually tip my cabin steward $20 on the first day and that keeps things nice in the room for the length of the cruise and might throw him a few more at the end. As for the bartenders I bring a handful of $2 bills for good bartenders and then at the end of the cruise I will tip $20 or so to my favorite bartenders at my favorite bars. ( The Ensemble and the Sunset bar) As for the waiters I use select dining so it makes it difficult to get the same waiters and then I go back to plan "B", a few bucks extra for extra good service. It is not a perfect system but it works for me. As for the Pre-paid Gratuity's that is the only way to go for me. Cheers!:D

Yes, prepaid gratuities are fine. One of the perks of cruising is me not carrying any cash on me while onboard, it is all taken care of and I never tip extra. Service is always great and your auto tip takes care of everybody.

Room Service I usually tip 2 or 3 bucks.

So, I should do something called "auto tip". Then the only person that I should tip is for room service. Is that right? How much should I tip them?

As you can see from the above comments, gratuities are a very personal issue.

It is certainly fine to feel that the automatic gratuities are sufficient and leave it at that.

And it is also fine to wish to give additional tips to those whose service you really appreciate and to those with whom you have enjoyed a personal, albeit fleeting, relationship.

So let your feelings guide you rather than the opinions of others (including mine!)
