JohninDC Posted September 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2016 Any info on taking a taxi or mini bus from the ship to the beach... Easy! Cab line near each pier - there are 3 on Coz, so be sure you go back to the correct pier. A board will post the cab rates to most popular tourist spots/beaches. It never hurts to confirm the fare BEFORE you get into the cab how long is the ride from port to the beach10-20 minutes, depending upon which beach you choose which beach is best, Depends upon what you want and who is travelling? Honeymoon 20 somethings? Travelling with toddlers? Party atmosphere? Quiet and relaxing? All-inclusive? Cost to go on the beach, rental cost for chair/umbrella Free to $50+ each, depending upon which beach and if unlimited food/drinks are included Thanks. Paradise Beach, Mr. Sanchos, Playa Mia, Nachi Cocom, Money Bar, and a few others are the most often suggested beaches on this board. Do some home work and give this board some more info on what you want. ;)
helendaw Posted September 6, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted September 6, 2016 We are just looking to sit on a nice beach, with lounge chairs and shade and go in the water for a few hours. Do not want all inclusive package. Is there a beach we could walk to. Do not know yet which port we will be docking at. Will be on Carnival Paradise on November 7 sailing. Thanks. Rare crewsweeper Posted September 6, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2016 Paradise docks at Puerta Maya. There's a small, no facilities beach at the port. But I wouldn't swim in the water there. Best top head for one of the beaches John mentioned. Taxis are zoned and rates are fixed. This site will show you the port, port schedule and taxi rates. http://www.puertamaya.com/

Do not want all inclusive package. Paradise Beach if you want to stroll along the shore (taxi about $17 each way) or Money Bar (taxi about $10 each way) if you are happy to just swim and look at the water - no beach at the Money Bar, but the water is clear and the snorkeling is good!
