Italy52 Posted October 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2016 Does Holland America ever offer any discounts for their Alaska sailings? If so, do you know what month(s) they might do this?
CruiserBruce Posted October 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2016 If a particular cruise isn't selling well, there will be sales. These can come at a variety of times. But not tied to the holidays, that I have noticed. More likely after final payments. February was a common sale month...but not sure it still is. Haven't cruised with Holland for many years so I haven't watched how they do their sales. Familiar with other lines and how they do a lot of their sales after final payment --- something I hate to see but know the drill all too well. Krazy Kruizers Posted October 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2016 The only months that I have seen cheaper prices for Alaska is the beginning of May and late September when the weather may not be the best.
iancal Posted October 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) Yes. Most especially if you are OK with an inside or an obstructed ocean view. You can get verandah so but not as easily. On two or three weeks notice you have been able to pick up seven day trips furor as low as $499. The summer before last some were as low as $299 for insides. Middle of July and August. Longer trips with combined land were also discounted. You can always go up on one cruise line/ship and back on anothrt The trick is to get air orpick up a back to back return for the same dollars. You will only know the price trends in the early summer when you will get an indication of supply/demand that season. This is what we have seen. We watch the prices since we live in the area. Italy52 Posted October 23, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted October 23, 2016 Thanks all. Sounds like we probably won't get any price reductions as we have an inside cabin reserved for July with final payment due in April. Since we will be coming off of a Princess B2B and immediately boarding HAL, we don't have any gaps where we can take advantage of a last minute booking. Your help has been very much appreciated.
