Star Princess O.V. cabins

Are the beds for the 3rd and 4th passengers stowed flush in the ceiling or are they cantilevered from the wall above the bed on the floor? Concerned about hitting my head since I am 6' 3". There will be only two of us in the cabin.

Anyone have any pictures of the Category P cabins on Star?

Thanks

They are high enough that you won't have a problem. I'm 6-3 and have plenty of clearance..

What's category P?

If it's an ocean view cabin on plaza deck, the bunks are usually

on the walls, rather than flush in the ceiling.

Most quad configuration cabins have the bunks protruding from the sidewalls.

Once we had a quad cabin for a month long cruise & will never repeat that mistake. After a couple of days we decided to have our queen size bed split into twin beds. For us that worked better to minimize hitting our heads as we got out of bed.

It is Category OC on the Plaza Deck.

As stated, on Plaza deck if its a triple/quad cabin the beds fold up but protrude from the wall.

Its very difficult to maneuver in the cabin when beds are in a queen configuration unless one is a contortionist.

OP...if you search online you'll find photos of some cabins showing the upper bunks.

I found what appears to be an oceanview quad on the Ruby which is probably the same or very similar to on the Star.

Not good. When we took our grandkids on Disney, the bunks did disappear into the ceiling when not in use.

Will probably upgrade to a balcony.

I think you will whack your head and shoulders on the upper berth.

As one poster suggested, making the lower berths up as twins helps.

Personally, I don't like that, as I am always bumping into the wall

when I sleep.

Also, if you are tall and sit on the lower bed ... you may hit your head

on the upper berth when you lean back.

On the other hand, Plaza Deck is a fantastic location, with easy

access to the mid-ship dining rooms, and atrium.

Very close to the international cafe for coffee when you roll out

of bed. As a courtesy to other guests, I always make a special

attempt to keep my robe closed while getting coffee.

Can you get a non-quad on plaza deck?

There is no obvious way to figure this out, other than try and book a quad

-- which will show which cabins are quads, abandon that, and then try and

select a different (non-quad) one.

Pablo that is mighty thoughtful of you and much appreciated by fellow guest I'm sure -- Closing you robe I mean. Being close to the I.C. is a nice benefit though.

Appreciate your thoughts about the bunks. We will probably just do a balcony which is our usual accommodation. Not that much more.

Cheers,
