I've seen on this board but now I can't find it when I search. Can someone tell me how many cruises were needed for each tier before the 2011 changes?

1 credit - Gold

5 credits - Platinum

10 credits - Diamond

24 credits - Diamond Plus

Thank you. It was 1 credit per cruise? Or 2?

Was it 2 credits for Suites?

1 per cruise to start with, eventually gave a second point for suites and a second point for 12 days or more. We got 3 points for a 12 day Med in a GS in 2010

Until Jan 1, 2003 it was 1 credit per cruise no matter the stateroom category or length of cruise.

After Jan 1, 2003, an extra credit was given for cruises of 12 days or longer.

After Jan 1, 2004, an extra credit was given for cruises in a JS or better.

Would somebody be able to explain please how these points from the original C & A scheme were converted to the new programme.

Did you get your cruise point plus the number of days carried over?

I've always been curious how we got 8 points on the new version for our 7 nighter in 2001 but was afraid to ask incase they spotted an error and took a point off me :)

Conversion from old cruise credits to cruise points:

If credits were 1-4, points = credits * 7 + 1

If credits were 5-7, points = credits * 7 + 3

If credits were > 7, points = credits * 7 + 13

Ok, interesting... looks like you could have done well taking a lot of shorter cruises if I'm reading it right.

Thank you for that.

Majesty and Monarch created a lot of Diamonds. We have done a mixture of long and short, but nothing longer than 7. When the system changed a new Emerald was created and we were dumped into that. After 10 cruises we were one point short of Diamond in the new system.

Under old pts structure I would have made diamond plus on my next cruise (February).

Under the new structure I will cruise

February 5 nights in JS

March 4 nights JS

December 9 nights in a GS

And still be 22 points shy of Diamond Plus when 2017 ends

Come 2018 after my April cruise I will be 3 pts shy of Diamond Plus and by then they will probably change point structure to burn me lol.

PS before someone asks about my sig, I am canceling sailings between May and October 2017. Just can't edit my sig from mobile device.
