Ovation review

Looking at the Port of Otago website; about 11am Harbour gusts (10 min max) of 50kts.

Taiaroa Heads gust (10 min max) 71kts.

Has reduced a bit now, but will be interesting to see what their Taiaroa wind speed limit is for departure.

As we know, a demanding channel that one.

We missed the 6pm. Now awaiting a further update at 6.30pm.

Should we stay or should we go now......... ala The Clash

Issue that it faces is other ship coming in....

The Wind is still blowing a gale...

Damned Vodafone - reception out here is crap.

Yep, hope it isn't too rough out there and you get into the sounds, or has that been cancelled.

Earlier thanks to a break in the rain, we saw Seven Seas Voyager passing by the city, on her way to Port Chalmers.

According to her future track on Marine Traffic AIS she will head right up to the City , and dock in Dunedin. Can ships still get up there?

One of the sounds has been canned - we have to go to Milford to pick up anyone whom went to Queenstown.....

Still not leaving @ 7

That is a shame that you will miss some of the sounds, hope you get out of port Chalmers soon.

Thats the question mark over Fiordland. What happens to the ships tour people if the ship cant pick them up again ?

They will have to wear the cost of flying them out and back to Sydney.

A similar thing happened one year but they managed to call them back to the ship after they got half way.
