We are looking at a 3 day and 4 day back 2 back crusie on the victory out of miami. If we are staying in the same stateroom could someone explain the whole process on debarkation/ embarkation day.

Thanks

We did back to back several years ago (6?) out of Miami. We were required to walk off and then walk on after everyone else debarked. Our steward knew we were back to back so the room cleaning wasn't a problem. We had the ship to ourselves for well over an hour.

Enjoy!

You will be given instructions on the last night of the first leg on what you can expect. Normally, you meet in a designated location at a certain time and a Carnival rep will take the group off, thru customs, and right back on to get your new S&S card for the second leg. Since you are staying in the same cabin, you don't have to pack anything and, if you are nice to your cabin steward, he may allow you to stay in your cabin for the muster drill on the second leg.

Upon our return to the ship, we received a glass of champagne, mimosa or other beverage; then we gathered for a group photo. There were 60!

We actually got a free copy of the photo - surprising - something free.

We loved the B2B experience even though we had to change cabins. We've already booked another B2B on the same ship, this time with the same cabin.

I know i asked this a few times now but i get different answers so one more time, do i have to call Carnival so they know we are doing a b2b or is bringing both sets of boarding documents enough?

It seems some people like to call and let them know. We did not and everything worked out fine. Everyone knew we were on a b2b before we said anything. I guess it depends on your comfort level.

We have done multiple B2B's and have never called Carnival to remind them we're doing a B2B. We have never had to show any documents for the second leg of the B2B. We usually tell our cabin steward we're doing a B2B and staying in the same cabin. You can check with guest services during the first leg of your B2B and make sure they know you're B2B if you want, but they have always known we were doing a B2B.

No, you can not stay in to your cabin by being nice. Each stateroom is checked, some by the supervisor and if they " allowed" you, you will have a new cabin steward.

And to add to the above, many ships now use your sail and sign card to check you into the drill. If you are not check in you will be allowed to attend the second drill just for those folks that didn't attend the first one. Just what you want to be doing at sail away.

Hmmm...we were allowed to stay in our cabin on a Conquest B2B. The process may have recently changed where this is no longer an option, but it has been done in the past. [emoji41]

Consider yourself lucky to have gotten away with it. You can do a B2B2B2B2B2B and still be required by the USCG to attend each and every muster drill.

the ship has to cleared, which means all cabins must be empty. The process is U.S.Customs, not Carnival. We waited in the showroom and we sat for 45 minutes while they were calling one couple who thought they were going to hide out somewhere. Customs would not even start the process until all B2B guests were in the room. When they finally arrived we all booed them. There's always someone.

Yes, but two different topics. One poster claimed you can stay in your cabin during muster if you are nice to your steward, you can't and haven't been able to on US departures for years.

On debark, you can remain in your stateroom while the ship empties but then you must meet up with other B2B to clear Customs and zero out the ship. Yes, some people who are B2bing need to be wrangled up so the ship can zero.

Having done a b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b, I can attest to this. We were in the same stateroom, but still had to muster each time.

That being said, on NCL b2b's, if staying in the same stateroom, we checked in at our muster station, as they check your name and cabin number against a master sheet, then we're allowed to leave the muster station.

Enjoy your cruise!

B2b on Glory beginning od Dec. Was not impressed with procedure. Yes we all waited in Amber Palace in the morning. Old cards taken and new sign and sail card given. We then were escorted out to customs. No organization at all enroute. Those who needed assistance followed one person, other group continued. Well, the 2 groups separate. Disaster. 10 Minutes passed before the 2 groups met up. We were kept standing in line waiting until agents decided what to do. Then removed non US residents to another line still not knowing where or what to do with the 2 groups. By this time 20 minutes passed. Agents were still confused where to have Canadian passengers and non Canadian......Uk. Another 10 minutes gone by. US passengers still waiting and quite upset especially diamond and plalt guests.By this time 45 minutes gone by and no movement while we could see all the other passengers going through customs without issues. Finally non US finally sees agent. By this time 11:45. Meet for group pic and champagne.......another 10 minutes gone by. We decided to leave and venture to Lido for lunch......regular passengers began entering Lido....not so impressed and many felt we were treated like a herd cattle. Many of us voiced our thoughts. So no enjoyment of some quiet time and enjoyment of doing b2b. Just maybe b2b should be led off ship before or right after self assist. Early evening fruit basket and bottle of champagne delivered

(Do not know if this is usual)but this gift did not erase the frustration.

A fruit basket is usual and it's content is dependent on the Hotel Director.

We B2B out of NOLA. There were 20 of us. We met in a sectioned off area near guest services and our old cards were collected and "dinged off" and returned with instructions to put these ones out of sight and mind as they will no longer work. Once all the other guests were off, we walked off, straight to immigration, had our passports checked and then straight back on for a drink and photo. We were alone for about 45 mins.

On a side note, we did tell our room steward NOT to clean our room that day as she had enough to do anyway. She was really surprised at that suggestion, but grateful at the same time. In the end, she left our room till last and gave it a clean. However, because we told her this a few days before changeover, she asked if is could change our linens the day before, instead of changeover day. Did not bother us at all and I think it helped her out.

You shouldn't have to call Carnival to make sure you are b2b. Your PVP or TA should have your cruises linked as b2b. If you booked your cruises online without a pvp or ta you might want to call Carnival and make sure linked.
