Bourbon to the room?

We're on the Magic this October. We're getting Cheers, so we won't get bourbon for the room. What brands of bourbon do they have in the bars? And besides the Alchemy, what bars serve bourbon?

DH loves his sipping bourbon. He throughly enjoyed traveling the Kentucky Bourbon Trail last year.

as a bourbon drinker, i think most of us will stay away from the fireball. haha I can't help with the preordering of any bottles, but i can lead some assistance as to what they usually stock on board. Up until recently carnival has stocked Jim Beam White label, Makers, Woodford, and Duke Small Batch at all bar locations. in 2017, they have switched out Makers for Buffalo Trace. While i love Buffalo Trace, they should of discontinued carrying Duke instead of one of the most heavily sold bourbons made .(Just my opinion, I'm not impressed with Duke) One lesser known fact is that you can find Bookers in the Alchemy Bar on most ships . Its not advertised but ask away! Some of the steakhouse bars will also stock Bookers. Cheers!

Bummer. We are on the Breeze July 9th. So I can't order a bottle of vodka for my first night? Time to order some rum runners, smh

We've cruised out of Galveston numerous times. The way to get around the 2nd day thing, is to order the bottle from room service once you hit international waters. We got it right away!

Thanks. When do you hit international waters?

We were on the Freedom, April 15th, and the only bourbon available was Jack Daniels, Duke and Buffalo. Never heard of the last two and Jack Daniels is too sweet for me. I told Carnival on my survey that this was unacceptable and did not "enhance" my cruise. Did not enjoy myself nearly enough as much as on previous cruises.

Did you try calling them? I would think they could arrange a bottle of Beam....that would be my husbands choice....you may have to order the Jack and ask your room steward to exchange it for Beam..

(I did this on ncl...we had a suite that came with 3 bottles of liquor and we had our room steward change out one of the bottles once onboard)

Regardless of the hype/ misdirection from drinkers... Jack Daniels is NOT bourbon and the company does not advertise or present it as being bourbon.

For the past 2 cruises my husband has had to settle for Jack and he much prefers Jim Beam. They never did tell us why they stopped stocking it in the Bon Voyage department. Thank goodness they still have Crown. We did ask after boarding on our last cruise if we could swap the bottle of Jack for Jim Beam and was told "no".

Think I found it. International waters are 200 miles off the coast. Wonder how long it takes the boat to go 200 miles

I don't think it's that far out. For these purposes, I think it's 13.8 miles off the coast. Less than an hour from leaving port.

Once the casino and shops open, you're in international waters.

There is a discrepancy between 200 miles and 13.8 miles. I think some countries designate 200 miles for commercial fishing purposes.

Hmm What is your bourbon of choice?

Honestly, I've never heard of Duke. But Buffalo Trace is a good bourbon. It was one of my husband's favorite bourbon on the Bourbon Trail. He will drink that on our upcoming cruise.

I'm not a bourbon drinker. But Buffalo Trace puts out a bourbon cream that is so smooth and delicious. I wonder if you can find that on the Magic.
