Thank you for this info. About what time does this backup usually end?

 

I'd say by 9:00 or so. But, again, the day after Easter is typically part of Spring Break. So, traffic should be lighter.

I previously researched other threads. I read that:

 

The Francis Scott Key Bridge is about 45 (some say 60) minutes from the time you leave the dock.

 

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge (a double span bridge) is about two hours from the dock.

 

The best time to see the lights of the Bay Bridge Tunnel is on the way back from the cruise (about 9 pm.) :)

Also after you depart and before you go under the Key Bridge if you look to the left side heading out you will see a red white and blue bouy this is the approximate spot where Francis Scott Key wrote the National Anthem

$15/day parking. We're departing tomorrow. Will advise if anything has changed.

 

Not sure about hotels. Do any offer transportation to and from the port (like at at Cape Liberty)?

How strict are they about letting you board before your set boarding time? I booked a last minute cruise and the earliest time to board was 2:00, but I'd like to be on board earlier than that if possible. FTTF was all sold out too.

As per the letter Carnival sent out last night for the April 23rd sailing, the terminal will not actually open until 12:30 and they don't plan on starting boarding until 2pm.
