Check-In Time

OKay I called again and he took me thru online to get to page for picking check in times and IT was NOT there, so he said that means that port and ship do not have the staggered check in times. I will call my agent tomorrow just in case.

Sorry but there's nothing you can do but just to keep on checking till one is available.

Awesome!

I went ahead and selected the earliest Window since we should arrive by 10:30 and we LOVE getting on board as soon as possible!

Your 10:30 time is simply what time you are allowed into the terminal. It isn't the time you get on the ship. We also had 10:30-11:00 check-in time last week for the Breeze. You have to show a PAPER copy of your boarding pass before they will allow you to enter the terminal. While I did have a paper copy, Carnival had sent me an email the night before the cruise telling me that we could just download a copy of the boarding pass to my phone or electronic device to enter the terminal. The guy greeting us at the entry door said he wouldn't let us in without a paper copy.

Anyway, check-in process was pretty quick. They scan your passport picture at check-in and no longer take a photo during the boarding process. We were all checked in well before 11:00 and seating in the terminal. Around 11:30 they began pre-boarding all of the platinum and diamond folks. After that it was some special casino group, then the FTTF folks. We were in group 5 and were called to board by about 12:15. So.....check-in time does not mean boarding time.

Which port?? It just might not be available yet. We have not been able to pick ours for the Pride in September. I just keep checking - Baltimore definitely has the staggered check in. [emoji20]

I called again and was told that they should have staggered check in for my cruise and she checked and she could not see a place to check. She checked with the higher up people and told me that just to keep checking to see when they will put it available and if it is still not available in 30 days to call them back.

Yes - we've gotten a similar answer. We've been told 3 to 6 months prior to sailing it will appear. That it varies by port.

Thanks for posting, I'd forgotten about this. We are cruising the end of July and I was able to get my check in time (10:30) already. Now if they would sell more FTTF!

Last year FTTF was sold out and I kept checking and I was able to get it. That was the first time I tried it and it really helped because hubby is disable and he was able to go in the cabin right away and rest for a bit.

We've had it our last few Carnival cruises and love it. Trust me, I will check every day!!

I've been on two cruises and maybe I missed this, but how do you get a check in time?

This is a new thing Carnival is implementing. Eventually it will be rolled out to all ships and all ports. For now if your port/ship has staggered check in you'll find the option when you do your online check in with Carnival- lately someone pointed out that Carnival is restricting this to starting about 3 months before your cruise (it used to be as soon as you booked you could get a check in time).

Remember that check in time is when you need to arrive at the port, and can gain access to the building. It doesn't equal boarding time, although there's an indirect correlation- the earlier you check in, the lower the boarding zone you'll get.
