Some last minute questions

Thank you for the send off!

I (my DH and parents) have some questions about our upcoming cruise. It will be my husbands and mine first cruise and my parents first cruise on HAL.

How does betting in the casino work?

When bringing on champagne, should we put it in our carry on or carried separate?

Are cabins ready when you board? I told my mom yes, but she doesn't believe me.

The drink, The Wang Wang... too sweet??? How is it pronounced? Long a?

Ice... My DH loves his drinks cold, what should we do about ice in the room?

That is it for now. Thanks for all your help!

Welcome to your first cruise, and your parents' first cruise on HAL!

I only play the slots, so can only advise on them - you insert your room key card and purchase credits which go on your room account.

You can put champagne in your carry-on, or if you wish to carry it in a separate bag, that's up to you.

The cabins are ready by the time you board the ship.

Wang Wangs are fairly sweet and pack quite a punch. They're pronounded like bang bang.

Ask your cabin steward for fresh ice once or twice daily, depending on what you want.

Now go and enjoy your cruise!

Smooth Sailing ! :) :) :)

Just remember that you can bring one 750 ml bottle per adult on board the ship without paying a corkage fee. If you decide to take a bottle to the dining room or a bar/lounge -- then you will have to pay the $18 corkage fee.

HAL tries to have all cabins ready by 11:30. Every once in a while that doesn't happen because of ship inspections, change over in crew (some cabin stewards going home and other filling in).

You do need your ID card to play the slots -- they are tight. Cash for the tables.

When we need extra ice -- and I do love my ice -- we just call room service. We have been fortunate to get good service in that area.

When the steward comes to introduce himself and asks if there is anything that he can do for us, I always say that if we always have a full ice bucket, we'll be happy. That always seems to work. [emoji2]

You can play the slots without using your cruise card. They take American paper currency. You only need to use the card if you have any money left after playing. You can then insert your card, create an account, and transfer the balance to your card--then take it to the casino cashier to cash out.

Thank you - I understood a few years ago everything switched to card-only, so that's what we've been playing on the last number of years. Hmmm, now I can slip down with a $20 in the night when hubby's dozing and maybe come back a big winner! LOL:evilsmile:

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)
