I'm enjoying your review! Thanks for posting. We will be taking the partial transit in October on the Freedom. This review is making me super ready to go. I have a question about the Crystal Casino picture you posted from Aruba. Is the casino very close to the port? Some casino time after our excursion sounds like fun if it's within walking distance of the ship.

Thanks for reading! You will get to experience the new locks, as the Freedom is too large to use the old ones.

The Crystal Casino is within easy walking distance from/to the terminal.

Loved this review so much! I am doing the partial transit in January of 2019 and am so glad you suggested reading your review on my post. Also, I am going to Aruba and Bonaire this May so reading about those ports was a nice bonus. Thanks so much!

For her starters, Patti had a shrimp cocktail and a Caesar’s salad. I had the corn fritters and an order of the BBQ pulled wild boar…..

For one of my mains I had the teriyaki pork tenderloin……

Here is tonight’s dessert menu…..

Patti had the butter pecan ice cream and I had a banana split.

Afterwards we made our way to Punchliner’s to see the comedy of Steve Burr. It was a good show.

Tonight in the Taj Mahal was the comedy and hypnotism of Asad. Our friend Kris was one of those that were hypnotized. We wish we could have seen that!

Back to the cabin and tonight’s turndown service…..

Jeff,

Have been enjoying your review so far, and have gone back and read some of your past reviews! I am sailing on the Pride for my honeymoon in August and this review has been awesome and I am getting very excited

In the reviews of yours that I've read, you don't often mention getting the WCMC for dessert....do you not like it? IMHO I could probably eat 15 of them and not have a dinner entree. They are so good!

Don't know if Ms. Fun Bunch will be posting again, but I would venture a guess that she was referring to the Plaza Beach Resort. I had tried to book an all inclusive day pass there, but I had waited too long and got shut out.

Jeff you are right the name of the beach resort was the Plaza Beach Resort. My group really loved it there, in fact we have been discussing going back there for a land vacation.

Thanks for reading! You picked a great ship for your honeymoon! I wish I had a dollar for every WCMC order that I've had! :D I guess over the years I just got tired of them, and started trying other things. Now I'm hooked on the kid's banana splits. Go figure! :D

Thanks for the endorsement! The next time we are in Bonaire we will go there no matter what!! Our tour was okay, but I was not impressed with Coco Beach. :)

I am so confused (easily done I am sure). :-) I emailed the Plaza Beach Resort in order to see if I could reserve 3 one-day passes for when we are in port in May and they said this:

pleaseclick on the link above for all desired information.

Reservations in advance are not necessary.

How did you guys get your day passes?

You're not confused, it was a confusing situation. Carnival had offered the day pass to the Plaza Beach Resort as one of their excursions. I waited too long and that tour had sold out. Mind you, that this was months before the cruise. I went online to Shoreexcursioneer dot com, and they had the same shore excursion, but when I tried to book it, I couldn't because I was on a Carnival ship. There must have been a conflict of interest thing there. They knew because there was a drop down box that asked what ship you were on. If I had known better I would have lied. :D Anyway, next time if I can't book it in advance, I will just go there, as walk ups don't seem to be a problem.

I am loving your review and your pictures. The Carnival Pride will always have a special place in my heart as my wife and I got married on her.

The Panama Canal will also have a special place as we did a full transit for our honeymoon (yes, we had a wedding cruise and a wedding honeymoon, long story).

As for your pictures of Bonaire, I've never been there before and love what I'm seeing. One of these days, we will visit the ABC islands, maybe next year as I'm eyeing a cruise down there in that time frame.

Tuesday, March 7th - Sea Day # 4.

Here are today’s Fun Times……

IMG_2778.2-XL.jpg

IMG_2778.3-XL.jpg

IMG_2778.4-XL.jpg

I just want to tell you right up front that there were very few pictures taken today. I guess the camera was tired after two straight port days! :D

We slept in today. It was partly cloudy outside, and the seas were choppy, but not as bad as the other day.

Patti put together three bags of laundry, then went to the Taj Mahal for the morning session of Bingo. (No luck).

I worked on pictures in the cabin for a while, then made my way up to the Red Frog Rum Bar to pay Winston a visit.

Patti came to collect me so we could enter the slot tournament in the casino. I made it onto the leader board in the 4th position, but it wouldn’t hold up…..
