Another fleet of tugs patrols the Gatun Lake side of the locks…..

Here are a couple of Gatun Lake views. It took a little under two hours for the Pride to get through the locks. The Carnival Pride drops anchor, and will remain here for a few hours until it’s time to head back through the locks…..

Always love your reviews! You captured the locking process wonderfully. I can see that I need a balcony if I do this one. Thanks so much for the wonderful pictures and taking time to do this great review!

Thanks for following along again! I will be finishing the Panama Canal segment later today.

Wait, so the ship goes through the locks, anchors for a while, turns around and goes back through from where it came? Interesting, yes, but not sure I'd want to spend a day like that.

Yep, that's what a partial canal transit is. Some lines will offer excursions where you can debark (by tender), once the ship anchors in Gatun Lake, and then rejoin the ship in Colon. Carnival didn't offer that.

Once past the breakwater, the ship began to rock and roll pretty good, making it hard to walk in a straight line. It would be like that until we reached Aruba.
