Bringing soda on board

DH has diet Dr. Pepper every morning (it's his caffeine fix instead of coffee). It's never available in any cruise we've been on so we've become accustomed to bringing it on board.

 

It's has been a while since we've sailed with Carnival though and their new policy states we can bring a 12-pack per person in our carry on. This is fine but we've always given it to the porter along with our luggage. We tape it up with a convenient handle and attach a luggage tag. Always made it to our cabin, no problem.

 

Has anyone done this lately or do we really have to lug around 12 packs until our room is ready? We won't really have a carry on so I'm wondering, any of our fellow cruisers have any tips?

12 pack in cans only, and bring some tape to repair the carton in case your port is one of the ones that "delicately" opens the case up to check the contents.

You can only bring cans on now? Can you bring on plastic bottles of Coke?

I'd suggest investing in a rolling carry-on if it's that important to you. Unless you have FTTF where you can drop it off.
