JaniLuvs2Travel Posted May 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2017 Whenever we have taken excursions in other countries, they usually ask for tips at the end of the day. They will put out a hat when you are getting off the boat, zip line, etc. Tips are not normally expected in FP, or are they? We are taking a private Lagoon Tour/snorkeling and motu picnic. sb44 Posted May 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2017 We take mostly private tours and always tip at the end. Usually 20 percent if the guide is not the tour company owner. If they own the company we decide based on original price/value etc. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
6rugrats Posted May 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2017 Tipping is not the norm in FP, and I don't tip there. On my first visit (late 1980s) no one tipped. On my last visit (2013), I noticed some people tipped the guide, others did not.
Strenz Posted May 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2017 I am a tipper. I did tip in FP and felt that the people were very appreciative. I appreciate good service on tours along with good information and prepardness. I do think tipping is important but also personal and private. I actually enjoy showing my appreciation.
