Holiday Inn Express or Crown Plaza?

Recommended Posts

For anyone who's stayed or familiar, both are about equal as far as $$$ And reviews....but which is more convenient to water taxi, restaurants (not McDonalds!)..etc. One says Near "riverwalk"..what's that? I know Doubletree is on water taxi stop but more pricey...suggestions or recommendation of the two? We are going in March and currently suffering from "sticker shock." Thanks.

We hated the Crowne Plaza location. Not near very much without having to Uber. Holiday Inn in a much better location if you're talking about the -17th street property. We usually stay in that area, And there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

You would have about a 10-20 walk to catch the water taxi.

Stayed at Crown Plaza in Feb and agree about location. Did walk down to 17th street for dinner but took an Uber back. When we stayed at HIE on 17th street last November they were starting construction on a new tower so you may want to check on construction as there will probably be disruption. 17th street is not the only HIE though so you want to make sure which you are looking at.

If you are referring to the Holiday Inn Express on 17th Street, that is definitely more convenient than the Crowne Plaza. If you are referring to the Holiday Inn Express on State Road 84 (as is the Crowne Plaza) that one is further away from the 17th Street restaurants, attractions, etc. than the Crowne Plaza.

We usually stay at the HIE on 17th St whenever we're sailing into or from Fort Lauderdale. Decent prices, good staff and clean rooms. Also, within walking distance to the water taxi stop and restaurants.

Do you mean Crowne Plaza airport or Hollywood Beach? Transport is expensive to/from Hollywood Beach but it is on one of the water taxi routes.

We always stay 17th street HI but did consider Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach last time, post cruise, but cancelled.
