Good time to go to Cuba

The summer months, through the fall, can be exhaustingly, debilitatingly, hot and humid. Then there is possible hurricane season around November. The winter months have slightly more moderate weather and often higher prices, lots of Canadians at resorts, and Europeans touring.

Hurricane Matthew, which did so much damage last year in Baracoa, in the southeast of the island, was at the beginning of October.

There was a mid-November hurricane in Camaguey many years ago that the old timers still talk about.

iirc Hurricane Michelle hit Cuba at the beginning of November.

We just returned from Cuba. Yes, it was hot but not unbearable. Bought a small fan and wore around my neck while touring and it really worked. Tour guide said December is very, very crowded. If I were to go again in the future I would consider July once again.

Hurricane season is defined as June 1 through November 30th.

That is according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, but what do they know?

Having lived in FL since 1961, I tend to believe them.

Hurricane season is June - November.

Best to avoid going to Cuba because of hurricanes/tropical storms when they are most likely -- Mid August thru Early November, especially September. ;)

In FL we are most watchful August and September. Have been through hurricanes during other months of year but we breathe easier after Sept. 30.
