Is there anything worth seeing right off the ship in Costa Maya?

Hi!

I have not been to Costa Maya in about 10 years and from what I remember there was not much to do within walking distance from the ship. It was either go to the beach, visit the ruins or go SCUBA diving. . . . I chose SCUBA that last time I was there. This time I wanted to do something different. Any suggestions? Thanks!

BTW---Cozumel will be my beach day.

IMO,

Nothings changed. They have restored and expanded the crusie port. There is a water park just outside. Way over priced IMO. And there are many new beach clubs along the malecon. But your overall options are about the same as they were 10 years ago.

Native Choice does an excellent excursion to the ruins if that interests you.

Thanks crewsweeper for the confirmation. I came to the same conclusion after reading several reviews of Costa Maya. The cruise port is nothing like I remember but the other sites have not changed. I cannot believe this port is still on the itinerary with what it has to offer. I think I will just remain on board the ship and enjoy what it has to offer. :D
