balkor2 Posted October 17, 2017 #26 Share Posted October 17, 2017 I suppose the next step is to outlaw perfume and have mandatory use of deodorant. Why stop there, no food plates allowed on elevators, that stench is repulsive to some........... Let's not forget the musky smell from some men or the bad breathed people that are up in your face LOL How about those that wear Axe body spray, it can be overwhelming Live and let live. Elvis1209 Posted October 17, 2017 #27 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Why Bob is that unfortunate? I applaud Royal for this. Sent from my iPhone using Forums The cigar lounges were perfect. They offered us a place where we could smoke and not bother anyone. Can you tell me why you applaud their removal? Nobody was forcing you to enter the lounge. You didn't have to pass through it to get to another part of the ship. Just goes to show what I know to be true. There are certain people (not everyone) that are not happy unless they call the shots for everyone else. Just follow the rules! We'll do the same. Elvis Hey, I am opposed to all smoking in general. I play in the Casino a lot and the smoke often is repulsive especially when I go back to our cabin with the smell of smoke on me. I would like to see smoking banned in the Casino as it is an indoor area. I can’t say that I have had an issue with smoking in the Connoisseur Club. I just didn’t understand Bob’s remark that it was “Unfortunate” that Royal was eliminating these clubs during dry dock. The word unfortunate was the key. If it doesn’t pollute those of us who don’t care for smoke, then I don’t have an issue with it. The Casino does pollute our air. I quit smoking now 15 years. We are the worst kind when it comes to smoking. I have passed on many good cigars while cruising, and would love to have one. That’s my issue, I was addicted to it. I am afraid all it would take is one cigar to set me off again. After one quits, the smell really gets bad. The word unfortunate was the key. ... It's obviously unfortunate for the cigar smokers because they don't have place out of the wind to enjoy their cigars. It's also unfortunate for the non-smokers, because it puts the cigar smokers in areas where the smoke infiltrates non-smoking areas, like the pool deck and/or the casino. Is this a violation of CC rules to disagree with a Mod?? Hope not. Cigar smoking is not permitted in the Casino by rule. Of course we know that it may or may not be permitted. For the most part, when I have been playing a table game in the smoking section, and someone at my table attempts to light up a cigar, it has been enforced. We already have smoke pollution on the pool deck. We purposely avoid this area and adding cigar smokers will do little to our air quality. I believe, after having enjoyed quite a few great, good, bad, and disgusting cigars in my time, it’s as much about the social part of sitting with others and enjoying to discussions and other talks. Even listening to others, like people watching. Out of the wind is a good point. I don’t believe limiting areas for Cigar smokers has an impact on Royals bottom line. Ships sail nearly full. One day cruise ships will be smoke free. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sent from my iPhone using Forums You know, there's a simple solution to that. If you don't like the cigar lounge don't go in there! When RCI removes all the cigar lounges they'll remove me as a loyal Royal traveler! Elvis

Elvis1209 Posted October 27, 2017 #35 Share Posted October 27, 2017 They are welcome to it. Just for the record, I would never smoke in the casino or on my balcony! I'm a "considerate" smoker. I don't want to bother anyone, nor do I want to be bothered. Flame on! Elvis
welshy74 Posted October 27, 2017 #36 Share Posted October 27, 2017 I agree Cigarette smoking stinks but a good cigar has a better smell, Quite frankly both are vile!
Elvis1209 Posted October 28, 2017 #37 Share Posted October 28, 2017 Quite frankly both are vile! Why don't you say "I think both are vile" instead of making a decision for everyone? I agree with you that the smell of a cigarette is nasty, but I happen to think the smell of certain cigars is very pleasant! To each his own!
