shedridt Posted November 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Question for Bonnie - we are watching the situation in Bali with the active volcano, & note with alarm that the airport is now closed there. Obviously there's no way to tell the duration of this disruption, but we are wondering if Azamara has a contingency plan. We are concerned as our air arrangements are made...what to do? Hi shedridt, I'll inquire tomorrow morning for you. My personal opinion is that 8 weeks (until your embarkation) is a long time for the airport in Bali to remain closed. Hopefully there will be no need for a Plan B. But let me ask the experts for you tomorrow.
shedridt Posted November 28, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Many thanks, Bonnie. We are understandably concerned about making our air arrangements - only to find that our port has changed. No way to predict the future but surely Azamara has their eye on this, far out as it might seem....
Runaways Posted November 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2017 We are wondering the same (though not really concerned at this early stage) as we finish our Singapore-Bali cruise 21 January, just before you embark. Our rather expensive last-minute/peak holiday season air tickets are bought and paid for, so let's hope Mt Agung calms down soon. No doubt the Balinese people want that too! Looks like you are on our cruise, not stalking or anything but maybe you might like to pop over to our roll call. There are quite a lot of us. tazza_0712 Posted November 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Reading now about many tourists stuck in Bali for an indefinite period, due to giant backlogs of cancelled flights. All very concerning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cruise Junky Posted November 29, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Virgin Australia posted earlier today that they were going to try and go tomorrow to get people out which hopefully means it's improving.

Yes Bali Airport has opened temporarily with Qantas and Jetstar also making flights to Bali, to bring people home.
tazza_0712 Posted November 29, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 29, 2017 The reported “imminence” of a major eruption is the extra scary part. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
