My most favorite thing to do now, after multiple trips -- in Juneau we go to Douglas Island on public transit and play with other peoples' dogs <3

Just jumping on here to get ideas, as we'll be in Alaska this summer. Thanks for the link to the Alaska book. I just got a book from the library that's pretty good (Anne Vipond's Alaska by Cruise Ship), but for $5 I'll probably check out the "Budget" one mentioned in this thread.

 

I have to admit that I wasn't overly excited about taking an Alaskan cruise when we did it a while back (6 or 7 years, maybe?). However, just the scenery on several days made it a great cruise. No, the ports aren't world class. However, the combination of scenery, nature and the fact that there are a moderate number of things to do while in port made it a very enjoyable cruise.
