stoddaj1 Posted December 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2017 Our traveling companions now have a pre-existing medical condition and are considering cancelling their cruise if they can not find suitable insurance. Just wondering if anyone might have suggestions for companies that might have such a thing as well as a rough idea what 10 days worth of coverage might cost? Many thanks! pistnbroke Posted December 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2017 CAA offers pre existing coverage . You don’t need to be a member but will get a discount if you are. Call them for rates
maryann2 Posted January 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2018 CAA offers pre existing coverage .You don’t need to be a member but will get a discount if you are. Call them for rates This is very expensive for Canadians over the age of 65 with pre-existing conditions. I have used travelsafe (Canadian site) which covers pre-existing if purchased within 21 days of trip deposit as long as you are fit to travel when you take out the insurance. I now use Amex (RBC annual Insurance) . No health questionaire but it does not cover any conditions requiring treatment or change of medication in the look back period of 3 months prior to taking out the insurance. No deductable. klfrodo Posted January 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2018 I googled your thread title and came up with this. Not sure if it helps. http://www.coverme.com/products/travel-canadians-limit.jsp
Lunenburg Posted January 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2018 We always used Medipac when we used to go to Florida for the whole winter. After a year or two you get significant discounts and they offer different insurances for pre existing conditions, ages, length of travel etc. I checked with them when we went to S. America for part of the winter and they said the coverage is worldwide. They explain everything very clearly so you know what is covered and what is not. It is tied to having Canadian medical coverage in your province so they will get you home if needed to reduce out of country expenses. http://www.medipac.com/home
