Escape VS Getaway differences

Have sailed twice on the Escape both times very happy with a few flaws this was our first time on NCL we normally sail with RCCL and we where pleasantly surprised. We are interested in doing a cruise in May with 11 of us all different ages. Getaway is only ship during this time out of Miami. Wondering if anyone could throw out the differences between ships and the good and bad. This time we will have children 7 and 4.

They are the same general class of ship. The GA is 1 deck shorter, so about 200 fewer passengers. Food republic, district brew house, wine bar and pincho tapas not on GA.

They deck plans are similar. The names of bars and venues are different, but it’s a bar (e.g., 5 o’clock somewhere is called fat cats). There is a Cirque show in place of the supper club.

You will be equally happy with the GA

Escape and GA are very similar and share many pros and cons.

For most people, the smaller standard side balconies on BA/GA are an issue.

If staying in the Haven, Getaway doesn't have a retractable roof like Escape and Breakaway.

There are other differences so if you have any specific concerns, just ask. Kids will love both ships, btw.

Perhaps you might tell us what you really, REALLY liked about the Escape. I've sailed on the GA twice within the past two years, both times in The Haven. It would be easier to say whether or not those things that made you sail on the Escape a second time might be/would be present on the GA.

Will definitely miss Brew House we tried several drinks there. Was wondering if H20 was as nice on Getaway. Am I correct in that Getaway only has body slides not tube slide? On the Escape we had cabin 14298/14898 last cabin on the end it had an extra large balcony in fact, enough space for lounger, two chairs and table does anyone know if any of the cabins on Getaway offer the same?

Loved tube slide, H20 and only on the second cruise found the upstairs area with two additional hot tubs and area for laying out opposite side of the VIBE. We frequented the Brew House but have found out not on Getaway. Bowling, shuffleboard and Mini golf are also very important!

I have sailed both and they really are very similar. The Getaway felt as though there were fewer people.

The Getaway balcony have the table and chair but were a few inches smaller than those on the Escape

They both have H2O, Escape has the grotto and the Getaway has a similar shallow pool/sprinkler area but no actual grotto which subsequently is a bit warmer

The slides do not use tubes, just body slides bit were just as fun. The Getaway has a rock climbing wall but a smaller obstacle course

We sailed on the Escape first and were not disappointed by the Getaway.
