sewgood Posted February 9, 2018 #30 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Thanks David for posting the photos. I wonder how many north Americans enjoyed seeing the Sun Princess in Suva. It might have brought back fond memories of sailing on Sun Class ships many years ago.
NSWP Posted February 9, 2018 #31 Share Posted February 9, 2018 I have been reading the blog, but mainly port stuff, not much about onboard.:halo: But she is a lovely little ship, did 3 weeks on her in 2005, Sydney to Japan.

Kiwi Kruzer Posted February 23, 2018 #40 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Thanks David Interesting to compare the itineraries of both current world cruises to Australian ports - Amsterdam and Pacific Princess. Both lovely ships. Amsterdam was specifically built for World cruising. Out of the two I would prefer Amsterdam , for a long cruise , as she has a bit more room . Kiwi Kruzer Posted February 23, 2018 #41 Share Posted February 23, 2018 The ships usually dock the other way round in Fremantle, but the port cam shows the fuel barge alongside , so they must be docked that way for refuelling. Guess they will take quite a bitof fuel on board.....
Kiwi Kruzer Posted March 7, 2018 #42 Share Posted March 7, 2018 They are now cruising between Cochin and Mumbai. The bridge cam has been blank for several days. Lets hope it comes on again soon. Must say I am enjoying the newsy and chatty daily reports from the blog as they remind of all the different activities that can be organised when you are on a long voyage rather than a short cruise.:D

Missing their next port too. On to Corfu now.:halo:
Kiwi Kruzer Posted March 26, 2018 #47 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Looks like winter is hanging on in the Med. If they did get ashore at Santorini they would probably have found everything closed.

They missed Santorini for no reason. The weather was good enough for the tenders to take people ashore. By the way, everything is open. I know because I am on the island. I know because I am on the island. Someone on board, this blog actually, reported the Greeks who operated their own tenders declined to service the ship due to rough seas. Union rules there, ship's have to use local boats, not ship's tenders. I have been into Santorini a couple of times on Arcadia and Ruby Princess, we had to use local boats as tenders. BTW, welcome to CC, I note your first post.:halo:
