Inexpensive pool/beach by taxi

A few years ago, our cruise stopped at Cozumel and we found an amazing place that had a pool AND a beach and it was around $3 per person to get in. (It was at Paradise Beach.) They had a little snack stand/bar at the pool. It wasn't a resort, but it had lots of water activities at the beach, too. We're looking for something like this in Aruba...any ideas?

I think most of the beaches in Aruba are public, so free to “get in.” Palm Beach is close to the cruise port and has a lot of high rise resorts that you could probably buy a day pass to if you would rather use a pool than get in the ocean.

Palm beach also has a lot of facilities, activities, restaurants/bars (because of the hotels). Not cheap though, and I doubt you’ll find anything there for $3 except for the bus ride there (which is $2 per person). Taxi ride is $15 each way.

Barcelo on Palm Beach sells day passes. I heard that Riu is now selling day passes also, but I'm not sure. They both have nice pools. Both of these are in Palm Beach. There is a place near the port called Reflections, but their pool is very small.

Scroll down to the bottom of this page there is a list of hotels and resorts offering day passes, some of which include use of a swimming pool. However "inexpensive" doesn't seem to be the case with many of these:

That's a good resource. It hasn't been updated in years, however. Occidental is now Barcelo. Some of the others are just vendors are on the beach, and most don't give access to the resort.

Reflections on Surfside beach.

This is my review on another site,,,

From the port, a taxi to Reflection's costs $13. for 2, one way. The trip takes only about 5 minutes, as it is only a mile or two south of the port.

Our bill at Reflections totaled $60. for the following, 2 loungers and an umbrella, a lunch we ordered which consisted of a beef quesadilla for my wife, a giant hamburger and fries with 2 beers for me, and a tip.

The beef in the hamburger and in the quesadilla was outstanding. My wife said it was the best she ever had! Yep, better burger then Guy's on the ship!!

I want to state something here I rarely read, there is a shower to wash off the salt water just as you walk off the sand onto the cement towards the swim up bar.

Yes there is a pool with a swim up bar, with loungers and chairs around it, but I didn't make it there today, maybe next time.

After lunch, we sat around for about an hour, enjoying the breeze, then had our server Jenny call us a taxi, which she gladly did. The taxi arrived in less then 10 minutes, and we were headed back to the port to do some shopping before going back on the ship. I want to thank the following people at Reflections for a great beach day, ,,Jorge who answered all my emails, Brian who set us up on the beach, and took care of us there, and Jenny, who was our server in the restaurant/bar area!

They were very attentive, very good workers, and very nice.
